This role is based at Britton House in Warmley, Bristol. The service is 24/7 and provides supported accommodation for vulnerable young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of homelessness.

As a Night Support Assistant, you will work collaboratively as part of a committed team to deliver an outstanding service. The CIOT team has three main functions: Hospital assessment CIOT offers assessment of all under 18s, including those who are not normally resident in Bristol or South Gloucestershire, who present at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston (UHBW) and North Bristol Trust (NBT) hospitals in crisis with self-injurious behaviours, suicidal ideation or psychosis as part of a mental health presentation Intensive Outreach CIOT offers an intensive outreach package of care to young people and their families/carers in CAMHS who are in crisis, at high risk of harm to themselves, at risk of Tier 4 admission and/or struggling to access and engage with locality CAMHS. Young people referred to CIOT require more input than locality CAMHS services are able to provide because of the level of risk they are presenting with. CIOTs aim is to offer a short term crises intervention to try and prevent further escalations in risk, offer a period of stabilisation to the young person and their network and prevent a Tier 4 admission. CIOT will also support young people and families and their locality teams with step downs from tier 4 units when there is capacity within the team to do so and if clinically appropriate. We will aim to offer in-reach work alongside locality to maintain relationships with young people and assist with care plans at the point of discharge. CAMHS 24/7 Emergency Response Line CIOT manage the CAMHS element of the AWP 24/7 response line that was set up in April 2020 as part of the national strategy to prevent ED admissions during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are looking for someone who will be able to support and care for a child in our Pre-School Room, to regulate emotions often due to transitional times of the day, changes to routine, sensory factors and social communication misunderstandings. This role will help them to develop and progress in a nursery setting. The right person will be able to recognise the specific needs of the child being supported, and intervene in situations where there is an emotional or physical response, and work with and co-ordinate partnerships with other agencies involved with the child to ensure everyone is working towards the same targets and goals.

The right candidate will hold a level 2 qualification in Early Years or above and have previous experience of working within an Early Years setting-ideally with a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder. If you're ready to make a real positive impact, we look forward to receiving your application.

The post holders main responsibilities will be to: receive, sort, unpack, label and process specimens in the laboratory understand the use of the laboratory information system (LIMS) and undertake data entry e.g. for samples received and referred electronically request and receive tests and look up results etc solve minor problems with mislabelled or mislaid samples and to generate worksheets collect and transfer laboratory consumables and samples to and from delivery points, storage areas and workstations accurately prepare samples for analysis assist with the setting up of automated and semi-automated tests follow various technical procedures e.g. Preparation of specimens for C. difficile toxin detection. Inoculation of samples on to culture media etc maintain a high standard of competence in the performance of all tests appropriate to grade and investigations carried out in that area, following appropriate training perform technical work under the supervision of a Biomedical Scientist ensure important or unusual results are drawn to the attention of senior staff and to report complaints or anomalies as soon as possible use equipment in a safe and responsible manner perform general laboratory duties e.g. checking and cleaning instruments/equipment, recording temperatures, preparing reagents and assistance with stock control perform general clerical duties e.g. photocopying, filing, telephone answering, dealing with queries from clients, customers and other NHS staff and to undertake data entry assist in the training of other healthcare support worker staff rotate through all relevant sections of the department as directed Essential Criteria interest in Science and technology basic knowledge of health and safety and safe working practices previous experience of using computerised data systems. Security Clearance Level Requirement Successful candidates must pass a disclosure and barring security check. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is Counter-terrorist Check. For meaningful National Security Vetting checks to be carried out individuals need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years as the role requires Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) clearance.
