Registered Care Home Manager
Location: E4, East London
Salary: £45,500 per annum + benefits
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time (Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:00)

Our client, a reputable care provider, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Care Home Manager to manage a residential care home in E4, East London, offering specialist care for the elderly and individuals living with dementia. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate professional to lead a team and deliver high-quality care in a home registered for 36 service users.

The home has had a 'Good' CQC rating. As Manager you will be directly involved in the day-to-day running of the floor and office of the service so that the unit meets the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act and associated regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Registered Care Home Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring the service meets the highest standards of care and complies with all regulatory requirements.

Ensuring Safety:

• Protect service users from avoidable harm and abuse.
• Manage risks associated with mobility, behaviour, and hygiene.
• Ensure timely assistance and care to service users.
• Oversee medication administration and accurate record-keeping.
• Complete safety checks, including fire and health & safety measures.
• Manage the DoLS process, including authorizations and mental capacity assessments.

Promoting Effectiveness:

• Assess and monitor nutritional needs and access to healthcare services.
• Provide mentoring and supervision to care staff, ensuring they have the skills needed for their roles.
• Organize access to healthcare services and provide ongoing support.

Fostering a Caring Environment:

• Ensure service users and their families are involved in decisions about their care.
• Promote dignity and respect, building positive relationships between care staff and service users.

Responsiveness to Service Users:

• Regularly assess and update care plans to meet changing needs.
• Actively listen to service users' concerns and experiences to drive improvement.

Leadership and Management:

• Lead regular staff and service user meetings, ensuring all feedback is actioned.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 5, RMA, RMN, or QCF (completed or enrolled).
• Experience: Proven track record as a registered manager or deputy manager within a residential care setting, preferably specializing in elderly and dementia care.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of CQC regulations and health & social care standards.
• Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage both operational and administrative aspects of the home.

Salary: £11.50 - £13.00 per hour

About the Role: Our client, an independent Family Assessment Centre, is seeking a dedicated Residential Family Support Worker to join their team in Harlow. This role involves providing safety, support, and guidance to families undergoing parenting assessments, ensuring they meet the targets outlined in their placement plans. You will play a key role in observing and recording parental interactions while working closely with a multidisciplinary team to help families reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support parents and children in a residential setting, encouraging positive behaviours and key life skills.
• Collaborate with social workers, healthcare professionals, and legal services to assist families in meeting their goals.
• Monitor and record parental interactions, providing feedback to the Lead Assessment Social Worker.
• Safeguard children at all times within the family centre.

Your new role
Southend-on-Sea City Council are looking for a permanent Social Worker to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload of children and young people within the busy Family Support & Protection Team.This position will be mostly working from home, but you do need to be able to get to the city to complete assessments and join your team on site.

*This position attracts the added incentive of a one-off payment of £7,500, after you have been employed in this post for 3 years and 1 day.

You are required to provide professional and comprehensive casework to a caseload (average of 17 -20) of children and young people within the long-term children's social work teams. You will be developing and maintaining relationships with children and families who require longer-term social work intervention, including those subject to child protection plans, complex child in need, PLO/Pre Proceedings and, if required, within the court arena.

You need to provide an efficient and cost-effective service to children, young people and their families, ensuring that the needs of the children and their parents/carers are professionally assessed. Investigate, evaluate and analyse information on cases, demonstrating clarity of assessment, reliability of information, evidence conclusions and realistic action plans.

The quality of practice will be supported by regular supervision; training opportunities, tools and resources are readily available to assist in the day-to-day work.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you must have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England and have completed your ASYE.
