Trainee Gynaecology Advanced Clinical Practitioner – Full time
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Women’s and Children's Clinical Management Group, delivering expert nursing care to Gynaecology patients.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and driven to improve patient care and experience and will have significant nursing experience within both the Gynaecology. The successful candidate will have to complete formal ACP training and achieve a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice, enabling them to work autonomously in the planning and delivery of care to this group of patients.
The ACP will work closely with the other members of the multidisciplinary team. Liaison with community GPs, district nursing teams and community palliative care is an essential part of this role, to offer expert advice and support care planning, and enable patients to avoid the need for admission and can maintain independence for as long as possible in their preferred place of care.
The post will comprise of 80% clinical, 20% non-clinical hours to allow for service development, audit and research and professional development opportunities within the four pillars of advanced clinical practice

The post holder will be an integral member of the gynae - oncology team working collaboratively with medical, nursing, midwifery and allied healthcare professionals undertaking advanced roles and responsibilities traditionally the remit of medical staff under the direction of the Consultant in charge of the patients’ care.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) upon qualification, will work within agreed protocols and guidelines exercising independent judgement in history taking, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a specific caseload of patients with Gynaecological – Oncological conditions who may have highly complex acute presentations to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.
The post will be based in clinical gynaecology but may extend and influence across UHL, including Oncology, the Emergency Department and adult inpatient wards.
The ACP will act as a professional resource for the multi- professional teams, patients and carers. They will ensure that evidence-based practice is inherent in all aspects of care and treatment and ensure this knowledge is disseminated throughout the clinical area, across the Trust and externally as appropriate.
The ACP will triage referrals either independently or with medical, therapy or other ACP colleagues and make onward referrals in line with Trust policies.
