Position Summary
This internship will be located in Noblesville, Indiana. Interns will undertake short-term responsibilities in a variety of groups including electric distribution design, distribution system planning, distribution system operations, distribution asset management or distribution project management. Interns will work with staff engineers to manage/maintain equipment, assist with grid planning and sectionalization, complete designs for equipment install/replacement, and provide oversight of the distribution system. The student selected will be assigned to specific duties once on board. In addition of the Microsoft suite of software, other software applications utilized by electric utilities will be used. In addition to working within your discipline, you may be asked to work across a multi-engineering discipline platform.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Demonstrated leadership qualities through effective decision making
Works effectively with others from diverse backgrounds to achieve a common goal
Ability to deliver superior results within allocated time through effective prioritization, scheduling, planning and execution of assigned work
Demonstrated tenacity by remaining persistent in the face of difficulty
Demonstrated technical proficiency in use of computers, software, and engineering applications
Desire to pursue a career in the energy industry
Previous engineering work experience
Working Conditions
Required to wear personal protective equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, appropriate clothing, ear plugs, fall protection, etc.) as needed
Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the summer.
Hybrid – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to a Duke Energy facility.
