About you and this role
We are looking for you, an ambitious master’s student (m/f/d), to support our Dowanol Glycolether plant by doing an internship project in analytical support of a catalytic oxidation plant for vent gas treatment in the Dowanol plant with process optimization and validation of the equipment and operating parameters for our location in Stade, Germany.

Dowanol (TM) is an organic solvent used in many applications for cleaning purposes and paint. For this Project work the Dowanol plant is working in close cooperation with the Stade Engineering department, which provides expertise and support in process design, automation, and project development to the Stade Site.
Project description
As a student intern you will be part of the Dowanol facility team of approx. 40 colleagues on the Stade Site with approx. 1000 colleagues. The project work will be led and mentored by a senior engineer and is part of a larger project on Stade Dow Site to improve sustainability and environmental aspects according to TA-Luft 2022 requirements. The responsibility will be the analytical support of a new catalytic oxidation plant for vent gas treatment in the Dowanol plant with process optimization and validation of the equipment and operating parameters. This project may serve as a master’s thesis project in cooperation with a university.
Responsibilities
- Provide analytical support for the catalytic oxidation plant
- Optimize processes by varying operating parameters
- Conduct data analysis
- Identify potential new design parameters
- Recalculate equipment design and validate equipment size
Qualifications
- You are currently studying for a master's degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering
- You are proficient in English
Preferred Skills
- You have previous industrial experiences, by either an internship or apprenticeship
- You have the ability and experience in practical experimental design with subsequent data analysis
- You have good working knowledge of German, or the willingness to learn
Additional notes
You can start between September and October in 2024 for a period of 4-6 months (exact timing to be discussed).
