About the Role Base Location: Portsmouth or Reading
Salary: £47,600 - £71,600 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Distribution Finance have a fixed term vacancy for an experienced, qualified Business Support Partner to play a key role in the Finance team supporting the performance of our Customer Connections business.
Our Customer business manage the design, delivery and completion of over 20,000 connection projects per annum with associated income of over £140m for 24/25. The Customer Connections business is heavily regulated, and you will need to gain an understanding of the connections regulatory framework. You will support the Customer Business Partner in all aspects of connections activities also work very closely with the Heads of Connections Delivery in both the North and South areas along with their senior managers in supporting them meet business targets and provide commercial support as required. This is an interesting and challenging role within the Distribution business. You will be required to work closely with the Connections Operations Finance team based in Scotland. The Support Business Partner will undertake the following responsibilities:
- Drive the monthly business performance to enable monthly budgets and gross profit targets to be met. This includes attending and contributing to weekly performance meetings at business level within depots.
- Provide meaningful and accurate reports and analysis for the business in order to aid decision making and target areas of improvement.
- Support the Customer Finance Business Partner in the collation of budgets and forecasts for connections activities covering income, gross profit and capital investment from connections projects.
- Link in with the Large Capital Delivery Business Partner with regard to major project closures and forecasting to ensure delivery and closure of key projects for customer business. This will also include contributing and driving performance at the monthly project review boards.
- Work closely with the Commercial Contracts team on project financial management ensuring customers are billed timeously and project billing is managed end to end on projects.
What do I need? To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Qualified accountant.
- Good people management skills in order to influence and drive decision making with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build key relationships.
- Ability to work well in a project team environment and lead where required including providing guidance on all aspects of finance.
- Ability to drive process improvement and leadership skills.
- Key understanding of project accounting and Oracle BI.
