Live Life Aberdeenshire are looking for someone with excellent customer service / assistant and driving skills to join our libraries and cultural team.
You will be required to provide an efficient and punctual delivery / collection service to all customers and identified facilities in Aberdeenshire, assist in basic maintenance in libraries.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Driver and Doorstep Delivery team based at library headquarters in Oldmeldrum. In this this relief driver/customer assistant position you will assist in creating bespoke book bundles for our customers who are unable to get to the library using our library management system to identify customer preferences and delivering the books directly to the customer's door.
You will also be required to deliver resources to all libraries across Aberdeenshire including our school libraries.
Post holder must hold a current valid driving licence and be accustomed and confident in driving a transit sized van.
In this unique post, digital skills and experience using MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams is essential to update customer records, amend schedules, and correspond with colleagues across the library service.
This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
