If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen within North Lanarkshire Properties LLP, one of North Lanarkshire Council’s Arm’s Length External Organisations (ALEO), for an experienced Surveyor acting in a principal surveying role.
North Lanarkshire Properties manages a large varied portfolio of 1400 properties throughout North Lanarkshire producing a rent roll of approximately £6.5 million. Our varied portfolio includes shops, office accommodation, industrial units, business centres and yards. As one of the Council’s ALEO’s you will work in partnership with North Lanarkshire Council, harnessing business plans to reflect and enhance the ambitious programme of growth, urban and town centre regeneration and development and the Council’s ambitious drive for investment in the area. This is a particularly exciting time to be involved in leading this commercial property company. We aim to be the letting agent of choice and require a strong and focused leader to develop our business plans and continue our success in this area.
In this exciting and challenging role, you will report to the Surveying and Technical Manager and will be responsible for the, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality professional surveying service.
Your remit will include co-ordinating and leading the annual valuation of the portfolio for ERV purposes, leading on complex cases and major renovation projects along with assisting in establishing investment, revenue generation, marketing plans and for day to day management of the team to ensure the continuous development and provision of our services.
With a degree, SVQ5 or equivalent in a relevant subject, you will hold Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. You will have the ability to work on your own initiative and to work as part of a team, with the ability to motivate others. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of deploying resources to meet organisational objectives. You must also have a substantial amount of relevant experience in all aspects of valuation and property management and of operating in a management environment including budget monitoring, managing complex cases, preparing and presenting reports and developing marketing plans.
On a more general note, you will have experience of project working and be aware of relevant current and forthcoming initiatives, developments and legislation and demonstrate an understanding of health and safety statutory regulatory. You will also need excellent organisational and IT skills, be an innovative problem solver and be customer centred in all aspects of service delivery.

This job role offers a Hybrid Working scheme with a base location within Dalziel Building, Motherwell. You will require to travel throughout the North Lanarkshire area to undertake the duties of this post.
