You will work within an integral part of the business, reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and working closely with the Operational Team, ensuring projects are delivered on programme and within budget.
You will be office based 4 days a week and required on site at least once a week.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a degree-educated Quantity Surveyor, and must have at least 5-10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor. Experience of working on civil projects would be an advantage. You will be computer-literate, and will have experience of using relevant software. As an Evidential Property Officer, you will ensure the accurate recording, safe keeping, production and retention of property (Evidential and Found) whilst in Police custody, such as computers, mobiles, drugs, firearms and cash etc. You will also maintain and supervise property records on the property management system, ensuring compliance with force policy and procedures, and eventually ensuring correct disposal as per force policy and procedures.

You will supervise the collection of items for forensic examination by courier, and receive forensic samples returned by Courier after examination, ensuring each item is added to the correct evidential property record and OIC’s are notified as per force property office policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately and correctly recording, safely storing, and disposing of Evidential and Found property in accordance with policy and procedures and consideration of Health & Safety requirements Criminal Procedure Investigations Act (CPIA) Regs, PACE and WEE Regs.
• Accurately recording and transferring Section 1 firearms and shotguns in accordance with firearms licensing department requirements.
• Deals with External Agencies, for Auction and Charities disposals, preparing detailed spreadsheets itemising all items for receipt and signature.
• Undertaking of duties in an efficient, conscientious manner, for maintaining exceptional accuracy and for meeting pre-determined deadlines.

About You

Setting, delivering and monitoring a long-term strategy for a high value property portfolio within a large organisation;
Extensive experience of managing and using property data, records and systems to identify property opportunities
Programme management skills and experience with demonstrable outcomes of property transactions, developments and strategy

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a 150-year-old co-operative organisation! Working on part of a three-year development and growth plan, you will be working on a combination of acquisitions of existing properties, concluding deals and secondly procuring development from land already purchased by the organisation. This is a 12-month contract and can be on an agency day rate or on a salary basis.
As an Acquisition Surveyor, you will play a vital part in managing the growth of the retail store program property portfolio. You will be:*Acquiring new sites, managing, and reviewing leases as well as managing insurance, business rates, council tax and rent payments.
*Acquire new locations plus asset manage multiple property matters per calendar year in line with the company's budgeted forecast.
*Working with other relevant departments to ensure growth aspirations are being met via acquisitions.
*Providing high level technical advise and guidance around property management
*Liaising with external parties such as local councils, fire authorities and others as applicable
*Negotiating, completing and managing the central service contracts for the business
*Negotiate consents and permissions from 3rd parties. (Landlords, neighbours etc.)
*Develop/maintain key regional market contacts to help avoid unnecessary agent fees
*Resolve and complete all legal matters in line with the company protocols.
*Provide clear communication and forecasted timelines to the business.
*Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments.
*Negotiate/manage all external costs (i.e. Legal, Surveyors & Agent fees). Provide property advice and support for internal stakeholders across various depts.

Who are we looking for?
*MRICS qualified
*Property related degree
*Acquisition of property experience and procuring development from land owned
*Ability to confidently present to all levels of the business.
*Diligent and thorough with an excellent eye for attention to detail
*Excellent IT skills, especially working with MS office
*Commercially astute, strong negotiator with commercial contracts management skills.
*Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the legal framework applicable to retail commercial properties within the UK
Advanced Landlord and Tenant knowledge; strong understanding of legal protocols, statutes and established commercial practices.
*Presentation skills
*Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
*Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team.


Benefits - This role is offered as a 12-month FTC on a Agency day rate or with a salary range of £50000-£60000 + mileage paid at 45 pence per mile
