We are seeking a Lecturer General Construction Operations, to be based at our Fort William campus to deliver our CECA Scotland Academy (NPA Construction Operations) SCQF Level 5 programme. Delivery will be on site and in the classroom.

Position: We are seeking a Lecturer – General Construction Operations, to be based at our Fort William campus to deliver our CECA Scotland Academy (NPA Construction Operations) SCQF Level 5 programme. Delivery will be on site and in the classroom.
Responsibilities: The CECA Scotland Academy provides a training to employment programme developing a future pipeline of talent to the Civil Engineering Industry in Scotland. Created due to the increasing need to close the skills gap in the industry by CECA, the programme has been collaboratively developed by industry leaders and employers and is delivered in partnership with colleges across Scotland. The programme provides participants with an NPA qualification in civil engineering and a direct route into the industry as a civil engineering operative. Championing inclusivity and diversity in the sector, the programme will be delivered to students of all ages and all backgrounds. With the CECA Scotland Academy (NPA Construction Operations) programme, no two days are the same. The programme focuses on practical, hands-on learning.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills: In addition to a strong contracting background, the post holder will have excellent written and verbal communications, with a flexible approach and the ability to motivate and support learners of all ages.
Applicants must have suitable knowledge and extensive, verifiable industrial experience as well as relevant qualifications at a minimum of SCQF Level 6 gained as part of a structured training programme or apprenticeship in a relevant construction discipline. Experience in teaching or mentoring would be an advantage but is not essential as training will be provided.
Good planning, organisational skills, initiative and self-motivation are essential. A good level of IT skills and experience in the use of Office software applications is required. The successful post holder must be willing to undertake relevant CPD as appropriate to the post, such as assessor/verifier qualifications and a teaching qualification.
Salary: Pay will be on our teaching scale P1-5 £40,170 - £48,357 per annum, pro-rata (with placement dependent on teaching qualifications)
