Your new role
You will help to provide a property surveying service across your portfolio of homes, a varied role which will allow you to utilise your full range of surveying skills. You will provide technical leadership to a variety of multidisciplinary projects which are delivered by in-house teams and external approved contractors, ensuring that the business maintains compliance with statutory obligations and meets customer expectations.

In addition to the above, you will help the team to deliver an effective defect diagnosis service, providing support in relation to identifying, inspecting, and providing solutions to problems and defects within the housing stock.

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Pipefitter to join our team. As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining piping systems in various industrial settings. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work with power tools and hand tools.

Main Responsibilities

Ø Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws, grinders, cutting torches, preparing pipe fit-up and pipe threaders and benders.

Ø Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, valves and related equipment, according to specifications and isometrics, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.

• Completing detailed reports and specification writing, for example to support section 20 notices and Damp and Mould /disrepair claims.
• Although the role is focused on Damp and Mould there will be development opportunity to be involved with Procurement, tendering, organisation, and management of individual projects. For example, Insurance claims, fire damage, DFG's, Structural Movement and demolition work.
• Mutual Exchange condition reports.
• External Stake Holder engagement, for example with Local Authorities.
• Project Managing to include preparation of plans, prebuild meeting construction phase oversight, maintaining value for money and budget control throughout the project.
• Working with customers & internal departments to ensure that works are completed, and the customers are supported during the construction process.
• Actively contributing to the day-to-day operational delivery of construction work, primarily stand-alone building projects.
• Providing excellent customer service, building relationships with communities and promoting the organisation.
• Supporting the repairs and empty homes delivery teams with technical knowledge.
• Developing and carrying out quotations and tenders within procurement guidelines.
• Working with the Safe Homes teams ensure that all subcontractors are working compliantly and to the required standards set out by the Health and Safety executive.
• To be responsible for creating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement with a focus on right first time.

Skills

• Good working knowledge of Health and safety regulations and good practices inclusive of Construction design management.
• Knowledge of HHSRS risks and relevant legislation/compliance.
• A working knowledge of Schedule of Rates.
• A Formal Building qualification such as a RICs accredited course, BSC, HNC, HND or working towards one.
• Confident using IT such as Microsoft packages and Outlook

This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role
As a Project Planner- Construction, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Hinkley Point C is the first nuclear power station to be built in the UK in nearly 30 years and the site preparation works are now well underway. You will play an important part in supporting complex and exciting projects across the one of the most high-profile new builds in the UK.

Day to day, you'll be accountable to the planning manager and construction leads, the construction planner will be responsible for managing the detailed site construction schedules for mechanical, electrical & HVAC installation at site to ensure compliance within the project integrated work schedule & detailed task order schedules.

• Provide & update weekly planning data in project controls systems
• Produce detailed planning reports at level 5 & 6
• Identifying quantities and factors affecting the programme from live information at site
• Identifying planning scope, major constraints, and contract requirements
• Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including programmes, planning philosophy, presentations, and reports.
• This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.

This role is full time, onsite at Hinkley Point, 37 hours per week.

Essential experience of the Project Planner - Construction:

• P6 knowledge/experience.
• Experience of planning services within large scale projects within the construction industry.
• An understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications including JCT, NEC or bespoke forms of Construction Contracts.
• An understanding of various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring.

Qualifications for the Project Planner - Construction:

• An OND/HND in a relevant subject is desirable.
