About the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor

You will be responsible for the commercial and surveying responsibilities for large Sites. Effectively manage costs for the site, and ensure targets are met by managing and controlling the budget and valuations, including monthly updating of the estimated final costs, and can show absolute cost and value reconciliation. Responsible for managing all sub-contractor procedures and processes, and materials and goods if necessary. To teach, train and managed subordinates to their full potential.

The responsibilities of a Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies.
• Manage specific aspects of the project's commercial activities like managing contracts with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure accurate cost control and financial reporting by monitoring project costs and preparing financial reports and identifying potential cost overruns.
• Mentor and support Assistant Quantity Surveyors

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Qualified to HND level or higher with a valid CSCS card
• Proven track record in similar role or at the level of Quantity Surveyor
• Must have a full understanding of current market conditions and rates
• Must be able to control cost to complete on all trades and on all provisions to ensure live cost certainly
• Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations
• Methodical, conscientious and organised, works to deliver high standards

Great opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading London fit out contractor to oversee multiple health centre projects in Oxford, Slough and Sunningdale. Projects are all valued between £5 million to £20 million and someone who has previous experience dealing with both sub-contractors and client is a necessity. Responsibilities for Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Working from the PCSA/2 Stage tender process, to delivering the site and working through to completion and final accounts.
• Leading a team of Quantity Surveyors within commercial projects.
• Managing Packages.
• Managing Sub-Contractor and client relations.
• Site Meetings.

Requirements for Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Minimum 5 years' experience with fit-out contractors, not main contractors, as well as experience leading a team of Quantity Surveyors within commercial projects.
• Technical knowledge of pre-construction and understanding of contract law.
• Degree qualified and needs to be construction based.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

Main contractor and refurbishment experience are essential to be considered for this role

I have an exclusive QS / Senior QS role to work with a renowned tier 1 main contractor to work on refurbishments of Residential, Defence, Education and Healthcare projects.

Projects are from Surrey to Home counties (including London).

They are very busy, with full order books up to 2027 - recession proof works.

My client will pay up to £80k (DOE) + package with 1 day WFH.

An established and extremely successful main contractor specialising in the utility sector is now seeking a Project Senior QS to join the team on a new framework contract in Surrey. With projects ranging from £10 - £15 mill and typically lasting 3 years works are fast-paced and involve installing services in residential areas as part of larger frameworks. With multiple new schemes starting across the South East this is an excellent opportunity in a growing sector to join an extremely stable business in a key role.


Your new role
As project SQS you will be permanently site based working closely with the site management and delivery teams overseeing all commercial and contractual administration matters including various monthly reports, measuring and requesting payments from client, paying subcontractors, ensuring contracts are being adhered too and generally monitoring and reporting risk. Works are all under NEC3/4 contracts and measured.


What you'll need to succeed
You will be a quantity surveyor or project surveyor with clear experience of working on NEC contracts, ideally in the utilities or infrastructure sectors. You will hold a minimum of 3 years experience and be fully i/t literate and comfortable working on site measuring works. You will be looking for a permanent role and be comfortable commuting to the south coast for the foreseeable
