We are working with a Tier 1 national contractor who are in need of a Quantity Surveyor to join their in house M&E team.
They are the largest privately owned contractor in the UK and work on Framework and targeted 2 stage, negotiated bids only. The regional office is in Cambridge and you role will be to work with the teams delivering projects in the local area and Northern Home Counties parch. Projects are £25 to £150 million in value and range from education, office schemes, refurbs, data centres and commercial/industrial schemes.
The initial scheme is a major £90 million redevelopment of an existing prison complex and is a joint venture between their construction team and in house M&E services team so teamwork, collaboration and information flow are paramount.
The role is to work on bid and preconstruction with the estimating and design teams to analyse and investigate the best ways to deliver the scheme in terms of budget, quality and performance. Identify and partner with specialist subcontractors a swell as in house delivery teams as well. Once through the bid and 2nd stage negotiations you will be taking the schemes out onto site.You will be looking after a project Qs and an Assistant Qs on site and have overview and responsibility for the commercial health of the M&E elements of the projects including managing sub contract packages, procurement of materials and plant, remeasure, valuations, payments, managing variation accounts, forecasting, CVR's etc.
