We are working with an established Tier 1 contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Preconstruction team.
The company are an established and recognised brand who have an excellent reputation for staff retention, training & development opportunities, promotion and career opportunities based on your performance and have led the industry in terms of staff welfare and working conditions and are constantly innovating and improving the working arrangements for their people.
They are based in Oxford and operate across the Oxford, Reading and wider M4 corridor on frameworks and negotiated schemes across the education, mixed use, health-care, leisure and commercial marketplaces on schemes from £15 to £80 million and are one of the pioneers of framework and detailed 2nd stage working with clients and were one of the first to move away from the single stage, race to the bottom pricing model.
The role is to join the preconstruction team and work with the team from PQQ and initial bid stages, through to detailed bid and 2nd stage works through to start on site.
You will use your experience and knowledge to help evaluate the initial enquiries, work on detailed cost plans and financial forecasting, checking and managing contracts and helping to prepare and present the bid.
Upon 2nd stage award you will then be fully involved with the estimating, design, building services, design and delivery teams to deal with subcontract packages, client contract and subcontract agreements, check and verify prices and packages and pull together the packages to ensure compliance with the bid and be confident that the price and programme are achievable.
Experience working for a tier 1 or larger tier 2 working on framework bids with full detailed experience of how the 2nd stage works and the ability to work with estimators, planners, design teams and have experience of dealing with clients and architects.
This is a brilliant opportunity to move away from a site based commercial role but stay fully involved in the construction industry and work on some amazing schemes and be able to shape the future of the business and how schemes are delivered.
