Job Description:
HAYS are currently recruiting an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our team at a leading M&E Contractor business based in Poole. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial and contractual elements of M&E projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of M&E projects, including procurement, cost management, and risk management.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Work closely with the project team to ensure that all commercial and contractual requirements are met.
• Provide regular reports on project performance for senior management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of M&E contracting and commercial management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor. As a pivotal member of the South West Water framework, you will play a key role in managing commercial aspects of projects, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining profitability while upholding standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all commercial aspects of assigned projects within the South West Water framework.
• Manage cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting throughout project lifecycle.
• Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve commercial issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
• Conduct thorough contract reviews and negotiations to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities.
• Provide accurate and timely valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team, fostering their professional development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the water sector, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
• Extensive knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
