Your new role
As Assistant QS or Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will be working with an experienced Senior QS to assist them in the delivery of their projects. Based on-site and in the office, this is a great opportunity for a trainee QS to join a well respected residential builder and learn their trade on busy and commercially interesting building projects.


What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate is a degree or HND qualified Quantity Surveyor who is seeking their first role working within a construction environment. Ideally, the successful candidate will have some relevant industry experience, but this is not essential. Our client is seeking to appoint a hard-working, ambitious QS who is keen to learn from industry experts.

One of their flagship projects in the Central Belt is now seeking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their construction knowledge onsite.


Your new role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting directly to a Senior QS and Commercial Manager on a large multi phase flatted development in the Central Belt. Depending on your experience you will be exposed to fundamental construction processes such as subcontractor procurement and payments and in this role your experience will develop rapidly. As your experience develops you will get more involved in cost reporting and budgeting. Based on-site you will learn how to operate in a busy project environment where your communication skills will develop appropriately.


What you'll need to succeed
Our client are seeking a recent graduate who has a degree in quantity surveying. You will perhaps have some commercial experience from your time in University or are currently in your first role but you are looking to get more hands on-site and do real quantity surveying. You see yourself as working with a good builder and developing your career in this direction rather than client side or PQS. You are ambitious and understand that thriving on a busy project will take your career forward massively and accelerate your professional and personal development.

They are very active in assisting blue chip premium public and private sector clients develop exceptional retail and commercial space across Edinburgh and beyond. With a busy set of projects due to hit site they are now seeking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team.
Your new role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be working on a range of fitout projects up to a value of £2million. From working with the in-house joinery and manufacturing business to working with the Project Managers in procuring and managing specialist trades, you will be the commercial lead on a range of projects. As you develop your experience, you will get the opportunity to work on larger and complex projects and take full commercial control. Reporting to an exceptional commercial director, this is your opportunity to develop your existing skill set in a commercially stimulating environment.

The ideal candidate is a degree-qualified quantity surveyor who has already worked in a building and construction environment but is now seeking to make a move to a more established and busy business.
