Your new role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in their Derby office and be responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in the preparation of financial statements, ensuring the prompt submission of invoices and/or applications of payment, assisting in the appointment/ongoing management of subcontractors, supporting the preparation of financial reports as well as supporting in the financial monitoring/reporting of contracts.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will ideally hold a degree qualification in Quantity Surveying and have an understanding of NEC3 and/or NEC4 forms of contract. In addition, you will be able to work to deadlines and possess excellent communication skills. Finally, you will be able to work as part of a team and be able to time-manage.

You will be joining a leading main contractor working on a major water framework across the Midlands area. This company has a strong pipeline of work in the water sector, working on major multi-million-pound projects across the clean water and wastewater divisions. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team and work on multiple exciting water infrastructure projects.


Your new role
You will be working as part of the commercial team as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor reporting into the Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will hold key responsibility over the commercial functions of the role, including producing cost forecasts, administrating contracts and issuing contractual notices, assessing final accounts as well as assisting with subcontract preparation.


What you'll need to succeed
You will ideally hold a degree in Quantity Surveying and have some commercial experience with a Civil Engineering contractor. You will also be IT-literate and have a good understanding of Microsoft Office. In addition, you will have strong interpersonal skills, be able to organise and multitask as well as hold a full UK driving licence.
