We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant(Assistant Quantity Surveyor)to play a crucial role in supporting our commercial operations, particularly focusing on capital & lifecycle projects across our PFI estates.This role is perfect for individuals who are adept at balancing financial acumen with effective administrative skills and who have a keen interest in the property and construction sector, ensuring our commercial objectives are met with precision and efficiency.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our experienced commercial team in providing accurate cost advice and assisting with the maintenance of our annual commercial plans as well as assistance with the financial aspects of our construction projects.
With regular time based from our Salford office it would be beneficial if you were located within the greater Manchester / Greater Liverpool or Cheshire areas or within a reasonable commute.
Due to the nature of the job and our clients’ requirements the role may involve travel to our clients’ sites across the UK, you will however be able to balance your week with home working and Sodexo’s flexible approach to work.
Although you’ll be working to challenging deadlines and juggling multiple priorities; you’ll be supported by a team of experienced professionals who work collaboratively, support each other’s development and who are passionate about what they do and how they do it.You’ll be involved in a variety of project enquiries working with different types of customers with no two jobs being the same!

Interviews will be conducted virtually initially, followed by an in-person interview in Salford
What you’ll do:- Capital and lifecycle project commercial management.
- Assist in managing and updating commercial lifecycle plans for Sodexo PFI estates.
- Maintain good client relations internal and external.
- Present and always provide professional service.
- Perform finance related administration tasks to support commercial operations.
- Record and maintain accurate data, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our commercial strategies
What you bring:- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a good attention to detail
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Further education in Business, Building, Finance, Quantity Surveying, or similar field is an advantage.
- Ideally 1 to 2 years’ experience in construction / maintenance / FM environment or within a commercial role.
- Ability to keep focus on day-to-day performance whilst simultaneously pursuing longer-term opportunities.
- A willingness to learn and develop new skills
