LEAD DESIGN ENGINEER

PORTSMOUTH, HAMPSHIRE

£45,000 - £50,000 + Private Medical Cover + Group life insurance + 22 days annual leave + bank holidays.

Due to an upcoming retirement, my client are looking to add to their skilled design team with the addition of a Lead/Chief Design Engineer.

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer. If you're a driven & highly motivated person wishing to craft out a successful and rewarding future in what is a truly unique environment, this could be the role for you. You will be working on a variety of projects, centered around autopilot systems and steering control solutions for vessels.

THE ROLE:

Delivering inhouse and customer training seminars

Train & support of junior team members.

Conduct detailed hardware and software design - for application in autopilot and steering control systems for marine industry.

Generation of a range of documentation and manuals - test , installations and design focused.

Meeting agreed project timescales and allocated budgets.

New product design and prototyping.

Design and build of test equipment.

Occasional installation support on marine vessels within uk and overseas.

THE PERSON:

BSc in Electronics / electrical Engineering

Proven knowledge and experience of digital & analogue electronics technologies.

Schematic design, capture and PCB layout.

Ability to create and maintain technical documentation that supports the product development process including product specifications, manuals and end user instructions.

Ability to create and give presentations to customers and partners.

Experience of owning design projects from cradle to grave.

Electronic Design Engineer required to join a PCB product design and development team who work from product brief, use Cadence CAD tools mainly OrCAD and Allegro to design the solution, commissioning prototypes and move to manufacture.

You will have
Electronic degree or other relevant engineering discipline.
Electronic PCB design commercial experience.
Cadence design tool knowledge ideally OrCAD or Allegro.
Electronic and PCB design track record.

Role will be
Analogue and digital electronic design.
PCB layout design for prototyping then to manufacture.
Hardware debugging and fault find.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Powertrain, Automotive, Portsmouth. £Competitive Salary + Benefits

Unknown Resourcing are seeking an experienced Powertrain Mechanical Design Engineer for our Automotive client based in Portsmouth area. The successful candidate will work on exciting Automotive and Motorsport Powertrain design and development projects. The Mechanical Design Engineer must be highly proficient in Solidworks, with extensive experience of reverse engineering, 3D modelling and drawing automotive components.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Powertrain Responsibilities:

• Creating accurate drawings within Solidworks to be used in the manufacture of high-quality products such as engine blocks, cylinder heads and transmission components.
• Project managing the design element of all jobs, keeping to the required timelines.
• Keeping accurate design records, to be easily accessed for future projects.
• Liaising with manufacturing and restoration teams throughout each project where required.

Mechanical Design Engineer – Powertrain Requirements:

• Knowledge of gear and transmission systems and engines will be essential.
