As the Museum Specialist you will:

• Coordinates and manages the work processes of the PDE-I by means of work order requests, calendar scheduling and resource management tools. This role coordinates imaging across all studios, organizing photographer and art move schedules to maximize use of space and staff resources. Utilizes the work order management system (IRIS), NetX and TMS to perform the functions of asset discovery, quality assurance and delivery of work orders. Assist with image cataloging as needed. • Proactively aids the department head with a variety of administrative functions, such as, creating budget reports, imaging statistics, image collections, assist with preparing presentations and Oracle/ dept credit card allocation of payments. Purchasing includes general office and photographic supplies, by means of the DIVS purchase card, as well larger purchases using purchase orders and Oracle. Manages contractor contract payments and work schedules.
• Provides support to photographic staff with the movement of works of art into and out of PDE-I studios to ensure efficient use of time and facilities. Schedules projects in consultation and in collaboration with curators, conservators and Gallery officials, to establish the most appropriate setting or action.

As the Visual Information Specialist you will:

• Makes digital images of two and three-dimensional works of art using direct digital capture. Work is usually performed in a photographic studio, but also occasionally in off-site locations. The incumbent needs to use a variety of digital cameras, lenses and lighting equipment and is expected to apply wide professional knowledge and experience to achieve the highest quality images.
• The incumbent, in consultation with the Production Manager and Head of Imaging, coordinates routine and special imaging projects, provides mentoring, direction, and advises junior imaging staff on the best application of technique, proper use of equipment, and appropriate viewing/lighting conditions for imaging. Supports junior staff to ensure all imaging created across the department aligns with the quality standards set forth by the Head of Imaging Dept.
• Communicates workflow and system inconsistencies to the Head of Imaging and performs basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. Schedules and coordinates the testing of Imaging software and photographic equipment with Color Scientist as required to ensure proper quality control. Acts as mentor and partner for select photography staff within PDE-I to deepen their knowledge and experience with advanced Imaging practice and technique. Shares their comprehensive knowledge of and skill in applying photogrammetry and other imaging techniques to works of art. Ability to choose the right lighting equipment, related computer software, imaging/scanning equipment, lens elements, and appropriate filters.

Major duties include but are not limited to the following:

9. Oversees work of collateral duty specialists; plans and executes the office budget; and otherwise takes appropriate management action to properly execute the office's mission

The position is in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Human Capital Management Division (HCMD), Classification and Compensation. The incumbent's work involves analyzing, interpreting, developing, and/or implementing pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and/or guidance involving subject matter areas within compensation administration (developing compensation policies) and advising management on the use of compensation flexibilities to help recruit, manage and retain employees.

The duties include:

Compensation Management (60%)

Oversees compensation function for all General Schedule and Wage Grade positions. 

Assesses jobs and their respective duties to determine classification as exempt or nonexempt and appropriate salary range. Makes appropriate recommendations regarding the Agency’s wage grade pay structure.

Research compensation trends and conducts salary surveys to advise managers and leadership of the impact on AOC positions. Provide subject matter expertise on setting pay and advise management on the use of pay flexibilities to help recruit, manage and retain employees.  Benchmarks jobs against market-based compensation survey data to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position.

Performs compensation work that involves analyzing, interpreting, developing, and/or implementing laws, regulations, policies and/or guidance.  Designs and prepare reports summarizing job and compensation analysis; uses spreadsheet and data analysis techniques to assess results and market trends.  

Provides technical expertise and support services to all jurisdictions through the development, negotiation, communication, and administration of compensation consistent with the Agency’s goals.

Responds to inquiries involving pay administration and other compensation issues of employees for problem resolution of pay disparities and other inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.

Assumes responsibility for self-development by keeping abreast of current research, trends and best practices, and laws and regulations and remain current with the technology being utilized within the Agency and the field of employee compensation.

Compensation Advisory Services (30%)
Conducts market studies to collect compensation data to ensure salaries are competitive and equitable based on industry standards. Provide salary and compensation recommendations to managers and AOC Leadership.

Advises management on applicable state and federal employment regulations and compensation policies.

Provides expert advisory service and/or authoritative policy interpretations on complex, controversial or unprecedented compensation issues.

Provides compensation and position management advisory services to management involving position classification audits.

Prepares salary histories as requested.

Position Classification Administration (10%)
Provides backup support to establish and fill positions by updating the position descriptions to reflect current requirements. Perform fact-finding audits and supervisory consultations to accurately describe positions, complete the evaluations and classify the positions.

Assists with advisory services related to the impact of proposed reorganizations, and where appropriate, recommends alternative position management structures.

Assists with providing information on organizational alignment and supervisory ratios.

As a Visitor Guide, you will:

• Provide educational and informative tours of the United States Capitol to groups of various sizes, interests, and needs. Tour groups usually include the general public and may include Congressional Members and their staff, and/or prominent visitors. You will need to have a thorough knowledge of the history of the United States Capitol and the United States Congress to share on your tours as well as when delivering presentations on the history and artifacts in the US Capitol Building and the US Capitol Visitor Center. You will also expected to provide tours of the United States Capitol Dome.
• Serve as one of the primary points of contact for the visitors that arrive at the Capitol Visitor Center on a daily basis—as many as 12,000-15,000 visitors per day during the peak visitation period. As a Visitor Guide, you are expected to provide exemplary customer service by welcoming and proactively engaging with visitors, responding to requests from visitors, and providing information about a variety of topics, including but not limited to, security guidelines, the amenities available in the Visitor Center, and the process for going on a tour of the Capitol.
• Provide assistance to visitors with a variety of functions, including but not limited to, general directions and way-finding, reservation check-in and tour pass distribution, coat check services, large group coordination, distribution of listening devices, and theater loading and operations.
• Provide assistance, if needed, to visitors who require special attention, advising them appropriately, according to their needs.
• Walk, talk and stand for hours, up to an entire shift. You will also, need to walk up and down many flights of stairs throughout the shift, including the steep and narrow stairways utilized for tours of the U.S. Capitol Dome. As a Visitor Guide, you may be assigned duties outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions, to facilitate visitors entering the buildings or to provide support for special events.
• Operate various types of equipment, such as computers, coat check carousels, two-way radios, assisted listening devices, and audio visual touch screens. In addition, you will need to lift items which may weigh up to 20 pounds, such as stanchions and boxes.
• Receive guidance from the U.S. Capitol Police with regard to safety and security issues such as addressing prohibited items, directing crowds and assisting visitors in the event of an emergency in the CVC or Capitol, and maintaining personal safety. If any safety and security concerns should arise, you will report them to supervisors and US Capitol Police.
• Due to operational requirements, you will be expected to work Saturdays and holidays, and may be expected to work Sundays and/or evenings in support of special events.

The operational needs of the Capitol Visitor Center require that as a Visitor Assistant, you will need to work on Saturdays and holidays, and may be expected to work Sundays and/or evenings in support of special events. In addition, you will be required to lift items which may weigh up to 20 pounds, such as stanchions and boxes. While your work would be primarily indoors, you will need to work outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions, to facilitate visitors entering the buildings or to provide support for special events.

As a Visitor Assistant you will:

• Provide visitor services assistance in support of tour operations in the CVC and the Capitol. You will gather the group to explain the procedures to be followed and any safety and conduct measures required; assist and provide order with managing extremely large groups with unfamiliar surroundings where there may be safety concerns. Collaborate with co-workers, specifically, visitor assistants and guides, on daily and routine tasks and adjusts, as necessary, to ensure visitor flow is maintained and tours and programs operate as scheduled. Use hand-held radios to talk with co-workers and/or supervisor regarding new information or assignments or if in need of additional personnel within the CVC.
• Work with visitors in a variety of ways, in support of tours and programs (e.g., greeting visitors at tour and program staging areas, assisting with reservations, providing information on times and content, loading and unloading theaters, operating audio-visual equipment, collecting data, distributing listening devices, dividing larger groups into smaller groups per tour limitations, arranging for accessibility services). You will also have to consider safety and security factors when coordinating tour operations. And you will use the advance reservation automated system to verify reservations for visitors or tour groups.
• Confirm or set up a new reservation with in-coming visitors in the automated reservation system and issues tickets.
• Work with visitors to resolve late or early arrivals or adjustments to the reserved time. You may be required to lift twenty pound boxes of tickets restock printers for the automated reservation system.
• Occasionally be required to provide brief, informal talks on the history presented in the Exhibition Hall and the CVC and inform visitors about the historical significance of exhibits and artifacts.
• Receive guidance from the U.S. Capitol Police with regard to safety and security issues such as addressing prohibited items, directing crowds and assisting visitors in the event of an emergency in the CVC or Capitol, and maintaining personal safety. • Ensure all designs align with our brand guidelines and collaborate with the content and marketing teams to enhance the visual appeal of marketing materials.
• Team Collaboration & Creative Input:
• Work closely with the Marketing and Creative teams to brainstorm ideas, contribute creative concepts, and deliver high-quality designs for campaigns and projects.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)
• Basic understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
• Strong creativity and ability to produce original and engaging designs.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
• Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Knowledge of current design trends and ability to incorporate them into projects.
• A portfolio showcasing your work (prior experience is a plus).

Cloud Technical Lead - Azure, Architecture, Cloud

Up to £695 per day (Inside IR35)

London / Hybrid (2-3 days a week on site)

Up to 20th December 2024 (with a view to extending)

My client is a high-profile insurance company, who urgently require a Cloud Technical Lead to join a business-critical programme.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Cloud Technical Lead in a large, complex organisation.
• Expert knowledge of Azure and related services.
• Ability to read and assist with Low-Level Designs (LLD) for all Azure-related activities.
• Experience of setting up and managing automation structures.
• Proficiency in deployment, including networking and firewall configurations.
• In-depth understanding of the Azure tech stack.
• Experience with complex implementations.
• Ability to structure technical requirements and tasks.
• Expertise in complex troubleshooting.
• Strong team collaboration skills
• Ability to coordinate with security teams.
• Capability to provide a helicopter view, not just architecture.
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to have:

• Certifications in Azure or related technologies.
