Due to continued success and company expansion, my client are looking to add to their skilled team with the addition of an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, with experience in the Building Services/HVAC arena.

We are looking for an ambitious person, with good experience in delivering projects in the Building services sector, you will typically be working with clients in the following industries; Defence, Healthcare and Education. THE ROLE:

• Leading Design projects, in areas such as Healthcare and Defence.
• Accountability for Building services and HVAC design projects, strong understanding of HVAC principles required.
• Managing the project team, ensuring everyone stays on task and motivated, typically 2 or 3 individuals on each project.
• Managing multiple projects at once - 2 or 3 usually.
• Using Revit to produce high quality drawings, which meet client specifications.

THE PERSON:

As Engineering Design Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing part of the business undergoing significant transformation to support the Devonport Facilities requirements of the Future Maritime Support Programme. Due to the regulatory framework in which we work, the application of Babcock's Business Management System is key.

Day to day, you'll be responsible for managing the technical aspects of a project, from identification of the need through to handover, acting as the Technical Authority single point of contact, organising and leading resources as the project demands.

• Sound understanding of designing and substantiating solutions for safety-critical applications, gained within a Nuclear environment (Ex Royal Navy Operator or experience dealing with radiological waste)
• Experience of the design lifecycle and a logical approach to problem solving

Qualifications for the Design Manager

• You will hold a Degree in a STEM subject (or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience)
• Registered as a Chartered/Incorporated Engineer. If not registered then you should be able to evidence that you are working towards this, along with holding membership of a relevant professional institution

• To assess and monitor students’ work and set targets for progress.

Tutor Duties:

• To be a Tutor to an assigned group of students to undertake daily learning checks and daily Guided Reading.

• To register students, accompany them to assemblies, encourage their full attendance at all lessons and their participation in other aspects of school life.
