Presentation / Graphic Designer

Do you think in slides? Do you obsess over making master slides and templates more effective? Can you take data and turn it into easily-digestible, compelling visuals? We’re currently seeking a full-time Presentation/Graphic Designer with a strong formatting background who can bring a fresh perspective to our presentations and elevate our brand story. We are passionate about creating compelling, and meaningful presentations that will help our Sales team communicate effectively in the marketplace. Best-in-class presentation design is essential to support our marketing and sales efforts. This is a fast-paced, exciting new role focused crafting visuals for B2B, B2C, and executive communications. As an integral facet of our team, the ideal candidate should be collaborative, energetic, and adaptable as our team continues to evolve. They will be responsible for how our presentations look and feel — owning template design, data visualizations, and a repository of resources and tools used to enhance our communications. The ideal candidate would also have a basic understanding of video editing, motion graphics, animation, and know when employ those techniques for optimal marketing & sales messaging.

The Presentation/Graphic Designer will leverage their understanding of the Homes.com’s aesthetic, tone of voice, and analytics to create impeccable sales & marketing decks. Must be able to deliver strategically focused concepts, high-quality designs, charts, graphics, tables, and layouts for marketing communications that may be viewed on a variety of formats: print, desktop, mobile, and other digital displays. Could additionally contribute to the designs for events, video storyboarding, animation, data visualizations, and infographics. Expect to support all marketing channels: Lifecycle, Growth, and Product Marketing.

Together with a team of fellow designers, copywriters, campaign managers, and senior executives, you’ll execute digital and graphic design solutions that reflect our goals and vision.  If you “geek out” about not just presentation design but also - brand identity, logos, color theory, typography, motion, animation, design trends, and how to use them to connect with audiences in engaging ways, come join us.

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers the following hybrid schedule options:

• 4 days onsite / 1 day remote

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Designing for a variety of channels including desktop, mobile, email, social, display advertising, video, web, mobile, PowerPoint.
• Designing digital elements and resources for all presentations, while maintaining a resource of tools and a library of training materials to upskill other team members.
• Working with Creative Director to deliver final designs from concept through execution.
• Managing design assets and contributing to brand templates.
• Producing designs to help the marketing team develop effective marketing messaging.
• Implementation and adherence to style standards on typography, illustration, photography, data visualization and graphic design.
• Collaborating with the marketing and product team to ensure the creation and delivery of tailored presentations for sales enablement.
• Understanding of business objectives and how to apply design principles to elevate brand communications.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to understand growth & performance metrics that maintain design standards.
• Develop and maintain a library of high-quality creative executions such as: infographics, stock imagery, templates, spec guidelines, demo videos, etc.
• Work with Creative Director and designers to develop new presentation options based on sales needs.
• Investigation and recommendation of new presentation techniques to keep the team informed of best practices and evolving solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
• Minimum of 3 years of ad agency, marketing department, or design studio experience
• Prior experience as a Graphic Designer as well as a strong portfolio of related projects
• Expert level understanding of PowerPoint, Keynote, and Google Slides.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
• Knowledge of Project Management tools such as Asana, JIRA, or equivalent.
• Possess excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in design in programs such as Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), Figma, etc.
• Requires basic knowledge of residential real estate industry
• Experience in print, web and presentation design
• Must be a team player who thrives in a collaborative team environment
• Must be comfortable following design direction and implementing changes, while producing high quality designs and meeting tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills: can clearly articulate your ideas, designs, and suggestions
• Ability to conceptualize and synthesize complex ideas into simple, informative visuals
• Ability to interact with team members and stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Detail oriented and organized
• Impeccable time-management skills
• A track record of commitment to prior employers

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 

• Knowledge of the commercial or residential real estate industry.
• Strong Graphic Design background with strong design aesthetics and principles.
• Presentation/Graphic Design expertise that translates to other mediums
• Creating slide designs by understanding business requirements, and audience needs
• Translating requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns and attractive sales collateral
• Creating original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches, icons, templates and tables)
• Digital video, animation, and motions graphics experience a plus
• Collaborating effectively with product, sales, and management teams

This position requires that you present a portfolio of past projects as part of your application.

Overview of Data Operations & Architecture Department

Recognising the efficacy of big data and artificial intelligence in optimising sharper insights and outcomes for public health, the Data Operations and Architecture Department will take a proactive role to drive the design of a 360-view citizen-centric data architecture and the implementation of data operations to support and facilitate an evidence-based, data-driven approach to programme delivery. The department will set up and implement data architecture and structuring, cleaning and validation of big data from diverse HPB and partners’ data sources (e.g. food transaction data, sports attendance data, screening and sensor data) to facilitate data feature engineering use cases pivotal to downstream data exploitation. The department will also be involved in strategic collaborations with partners (e.g. public healthcare and data science institutions, academics and technology players) to bring in their data and expertise onto the data operations to benefit citizens.

We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals, with strong data engineering and data science skills and project delivery experience, to join us on this pioneering journey to build a more data-driven HPB. You will be pivotal in helping to set up and implement a robust data engineering pipeline that can integrate the vast wealth of data HPB has through its numerous data sources. A robust data pipeline ensures that changes from the data sources does not impact the timely delivery of high quality data to our business users.

Given the diversity of data collected from our lifestyle programmes, data science approaches such as machine learning will also be deployed to support the data engineering process. For example, we have build and included machine learning ops to help with standardising event names.

Responsibilities

• Design optimal data structures for strategic datasets and drive data engineering processes related to data ingestion, data imputation, data transformation and integration to facilitate data science and analytics use cases
• Build optimised, test driven codes to achieve the above mentioned
• Translate research and analytics questions into data features to facilitate dashboarding, model training, analytics, and data science applications
• Build test case on code to ensure that all codes are built to perfection
• Project manage and be the overall lead for engagement to bring together HPB vendors, partners, IT and business teams to plan, set timelines and drive processes that enable timely delivery of the data engineering pipeline guided by business needs
• Lead internal cross-functional teams to integrate, process and engineer disparate datasets into structured and meaningful variables to facilitate machine learning and data science use cases
• Lead the preparation of materials to update senior management periodically on progress of the project and surface issues and challenges for collective deliberation and decision-making

Qualifications and skillsets

• Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems with major / project experience in data science and/or business analytics from a recognised university. Professional certifications in data engineering from accredited professional bodies will be highly desirable.
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant project management and delivery experience. Experience in end-to-end deployment of data engineering projects in production environment preferred.
• Proficiency in the use of Python and/or Power BI
• Experience working on data engineering, and/or database architectural work
• Experience working on a few of the following component in the data pipeline: data ETL, data cleaning, data modelling, and feature engineering.
• Able to work in a fast-paced matrix environment, overseeing multiple projects at the same time
• Good communication skills and able to communicate and express complex data/concepts in a clear and simple-to-understand manner
• Have the drive, commitment, and perseverance to do well and have strong intellectual curiosity to learn and seek continuous improvements in the work assigned
• Experience in Big Data technologies e.g. Hadoop and Spark Ecosystems will be desirable
• Experience with test-driven development will be desirable
• Take an interest in digital health and healthcare
