Your role:

GMCA is looking for an experienced and dynamic programme manager to deliver the GM Creative Health Place Partnership programme.

The role with provide programme management support across a number of work streams and support the team deliver GM’s ambition to become a creative health city region, where access to culture and creativity supports residents to live well. This is your chance to join a dynamic team working across GMCA and GM Integrated Care and at the forefront of creative health strategy and delivery.

Creative Health forms part of Live Well, Greater Manchester’s commitment to help people manage the pressures of life, live as well as they can and find purpose through good work, in partnership with communities and you will be part of the wider Live Well team, working in a fast paced and stimulating environment.

The programme focusses on the role of culture and creativity in addressing health inequalities across the life course, but with a particular emphasis on early years and school readiness, neurodivergent young people, global majority mental health, adults with long term conditions and older people’s brain health. Additional workstreams will focus on sustainability and include intelligence and data, workforce development and leadership. There will be opportunity for you to both input into the development of these work strands and to investigate potential additional areas of work.

You will collaborate with a range of stakeholders across GMCA and GM Integrated Care and GM’s 10 localities, including health, social care, higher education and the voluntary and community and cultural sectors.

The role would suit candidates with experience of managing projects in a complex operating environment with a passion for the role of culture and creativity in improving the health and wellbeing of the residents of Greater Manchester.

About you:

You will be passionate about supporting people to live well through access to culture and creativity and have a broad understanding of current creative health practice and strategy.

You will have experience of multi-agency collaboration and partnership development and have a proven ability to develop and deliver complex programmes of work through collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

You will have the ability to plan and organise a range of complex activities whilst being flexible in your approach and able to respond to changing environments and circumstances.

You will be a strong communicator, with a proven ability to provide written and verbal reports and to engage with a wide range of people including team members, frontline professionals, academics, strategic leaders and representatives from communities.

You will be self motivated whilst also able to work effectively as part of a team.

You will have demonstrable experience of successful project management including monitoring budgets, meeting deadlines, informing the design and execution of evaluation and supporting the dissemination of project outcomes.

You will have experience of working in the culture and or health sectors.

Programme Manager (Creative Health)

We are recruiting for a Design Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor to work on a number of schemes in the Surrey, Crawley, Reigate and South West London areas. The company are one of the most successfully privately owned profitable contractors in the country and their Southern operations are based from their office near Reading and turnover in excess of £1 billion a year.

Schemes in the pipeline are £30 million DFE school schemes, Spec Office developments and several Hi Rise student schemes.

They target schemes between £30 and £90 million on frameworks and repeat business opportunities with long term clients and will also identify and target single stage regen and development schemes up to £150 million - typical schemes are large schools and multi phased education schemes, student accommodation, PRS developments, high rise office and resi schemes, distribution hubs and large multi use retail and leisure developments - a really-wide and diverse range of projects to work on.

The role includes early involvement at tender and bid stage, working with the estimating and commercial teams to carry out a detailed and forensic investigation into the scheme and work on the key packages to explore and identify both opportunities and potential issues with critical pathways, carry out ve exercises where needed and use your skills and expertise to create detailed input for the tender and bid packages. You will be responsible for the information flow between client, consultants, subcontractors and your own internal teams and take the lead on the framework schemes.

You will be responsible for taking the scheme from tender, bid, contract award and finally onto site for the construction phase. You will be responsible for management and implementation of the design on site with the project manager and site delivery teams and subcontractors and take responsibility for managing rfi's, change process, cdm regulations etc. through to handover, commissioning and production of O&M manuals.

You will ideally have worked for a tier 1 or larger regional contractor on schemes above £10 million and have experience of both D&B projects and framework negotiations, be able to demonstrate excellent work practices, attention to detail, organisational skills as well as the ability to identify opportunities and potential issues.

Design Manager / Senior Design Manager - Leading Contractor

Responsibilities

• Understand client requirements/output specs
• Ensure pricing assumptions are consistent with the development of the design - with Pre construction manager
• Monitors design progress and ensures the accuracy and completeness of design variables at each stage of the design development process (ITN Phase / PB Phase / Construction Phase)
• Ensures that all resources for coordination are appointed
• Prepare monthly report to Design Leads
• Responsible for design compliance, build ability, efficiency of design and supporting the bid process.
• Responsible to lead the sign off of documents to the correct status
• Prepares and validates the Design Management Plan (DMP)

The role - Design Manager

As a Design Manager you will be a key part of the technical team and will be working on a £50m high rise development in Manchester.

You will be reporting into the Design Lead and Project Director who are overseeing the development and will be responsible for the following duties:

• Monitor and advise on the procurement of specialist subcontractor's design input in accordance with the Design Programme.
• Ensure that the requirements of the Design Management Plan (DMP) and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) are achieved by all specialist design subcontractors.
• Assist in the commercial and technical review of specialist subcontract tender returns.
• Monitor and advise on the progress and production of specialist subcontractor's design documentation in accordance with the agreed Design Programme.
• Monitor the flow of shared and published design documentation.
• Undertake elemental coordination and technical compliance checks on specialist subcontractor design documentation.
• Undertake design performance reviews for all specialist design subcontractors.
• Assist the Document Controller in archiving all final issue design documentation, for all As-Built Drawings, O&M Manuals, Health and Safety File and Post Construction Stage BREEAM certificate.

Required Skills/Experience:

• Relevant industry degree/qualification
• Previous experience working on similar projects would be preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience working with a main contractor.

As an Design Engineer, youll work within an exciting, challenging and growing area of the SSE Enterprise business, supporting and undertaking the development of design for Electrical Distribution projects for a variety of customers, in compliance with the relevant legislation and design standards. The primary focus of this role will be to support the design of new DNO and IDNO adoptable electrical infrastructure, from LV through to 33kV, from concept through to detailed construction drawings for the SSE ICP Team.

- You will develop HV and LV electrical distribution networks designs, complying with the relevant NERS & G81 design guidance, appropriate Network/Systems Operator design standards and industry legislation. - You will be required to plan, develop and coordinated solutions to meet the needs of internal and external clients, contribute to client meetings and provide strong leadership on behalf of the Engineering Solutions team in ensuring a fully coordinated approach to design development and costing, showing strong commercial awareness.

- You will support in the management of design contracts for the development and design of your solutions to address the requirements of a project.

- You will also take ownership for driving forward key innovation projects in order to enhance the solutions which Enterprise develop in order to explore the opportunities in the emerging DE Market, identifying key challenges and creative solutions to drive growth in the business.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A good understanding of the energy industry

- A strong understanding of the UK Electricity distribution structure and regulations

- Qualified Electrical Engineer - to HNC, degree or equivalent certification level

- Background in Electrical Network Planning & Design working within a DNO, IDNO or ICP environment, with a broad technical knowledge and experience in a similar role
