DT is a well-resourced and supported subject at Ralph Allen school, growing in popularity at both GCSE and A-level. We currently run A-level Product Design and GCSE’s in Food Preparation and Nutrition, Product Design: Textiles, Product Design: Resistant Materials, Art & Design; Graphic Communication and a Construction Vocational Qualification.
The role of the Technician is wide ranging from ensuring equipment and machinery is maintained and safe to use; materials are prepared, and stock maintained; through to assisting teachers and students in the classroom and workshop. An ability to pro-actively anticipate teachers needs would be advantageous, as would employing your expertise in developing new projects.
The department has a broad range of equipment, and the successful candidate will need to feel as confident using a 3D printer and laser cutter as they do a bandsaw and lathe. Full training will be provided on all equipment, as will DATA Health and Safety training, for the successful candidate.
An interest in DT is required and although a DT or technical background would be advantageous, it is not essential as full training will be given.

The Opportunity

What you’ll be doing

You'll also produce and analyse performance indicators (KPIs), conduct audits to ensure compliance, and resolve configuration-related issues or non-conformance matters. Additionally, you will coordinate technical topics, participating in their arbitration and prioritisation, and lead technical discussions when necessary.

Who you are

You'll need an engineering degree or equivalent qualification, along with a solid understanding of EPR design and engineering processes. Your familiarity with UK laws, regulations, and nuclear industry best practices will be key, as will your ability to grasp complex technical subjects and provide accurate, clear analysis. Strong organisational and time management skills are essential to successfully manage multiple technical tasks and priorities.

In this role, excellent communication and people engagement skills are crucial. We are looking for a talented CAD Design Technician. THE ROLE:

• Producing high quality designs - 2D & 3D.

THE PERSON:

We are looking for a Project Accountant to provide maternity cover for minimum 1-year fixed term. You will be strategically focused on providing financial insight and guidance from a commercial viewpoint. Acting as the lead Finance Business Partner for our regional and national funded Programmes you will support the team with project financials, identifying and measuring key success drivers and risks, project-managing the programme budgets and reporting performance against target.

This role is an integral member of a small yet highly motivated and fast-paced Finance team, working alongside wider creative teams and contributing to all areas of the business. You will be provided with
training for Xledger cloud accounting software, our primary platform for financial reporting.

This is a development opportunity for a financial professional to business partner with creative talent, leading on project reporting, budgets, supporting audits and developing relationships and knowledge across the UK Creative Industries. The ideal candidate must be CIMA part or fully qualified or QBE and available to commence appointment from 25th November 2024.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Business Partnering
• Build close working relationships with Programmes teams to foster open communication and ensure success of programmes overall, as well as maximising contribution from programme activities
• Oversee that programmes spend is in line with budgets through monthly forecasting meetings/calls with Programme Managers/ Heads of Programmes.
• Update Finance Director on pipeline income opportunities to monitor progress against annual Income targets and feed into quarterly reporting.
• Collaborate with New Business teams to produce proposals/bids for new projects, conduct scenario planning and review contracts from a financial perspective – finding the balance between competitiveness and maximising company contribution.
• Facilitate joining-up of Business Areas by sharing budget and forecast information with other teams e.g. share programmes marketing budgets with Director of Marketing to enable collaboration across the organisation.
• Attend and contribute to company meetings to assist collaboration between teams and ensure a joined-up approach to all company events and activities.

Management Reporting
• Prepare, review and analyse information used for management, forecasting, control and monitoring, with ownership of the Programmes budgets.
• Develop and analyse various income and expenditure scenarios and generate accurate forecasts to assist in sound management decision-making.
• Produce accurate and timely information, including variance analysis and commentary, for quarterly internal and Board reporting.
• Support with cash-flow forecasting and management.

External Reporting
• Ensure all external reports are delivered and submitted timely in accordance with funder requirements
• Provide/ review evidence requested from the relevant regulatory bodies and support in the preparation of project audits.

Audit
• Support the Finance team during the year-end auditing process, ensuring all required information is accurate and delivered to the auditors on time.

Budgeting
• Support the Finance Director in producing annual and strategic growth budgets for the group, with ownership of Programmes budgets.
• Consult with teams and project managers to plan and develop detailed programme and departmental budgets annually.

Other Activities
• Conduct continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations within the Finance function.
• To undertake any other reasonable activities as directed by Finance Director.
