Job Summary

What Are Your Responsibilities?

This position is responsible for actively participating in an internship program that leverages your skills, knowledge, and capabilities while exposing you to different methodologies and tools. Working closely with cross-functional teams in both our business and technical areas the Associate IT Process Design & Government Analyst Intern may be responsible for conducting process open mic and jam sessions, assisting with process central operations, creating process documentation, contributing to process knowledge base, and evaluating metrics and continuous improvement ideas/options across all channels from CoE's. Additional project support, administrative tasks, and ad hoc requests to support business needs.

• Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies. 
• Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
• Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned.
• responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
• Create a final internship PowerPoint presentation to share with department leadership covering the internship experience, the assigned project over the course of the summer, including the results along with any solutions or recommendations that can be leveraged by the department in the future.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Preferred: Understanding of future/emerging technologies and application domain knowledge.
• Preferred: Strong problem solving and analytical thinking.
• Knowledge of MAR processes.
• Ability to assist with process inventory management and audit support.
• Delivery methodology understanding (e.g., scrum) is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of IT standards, procedures, and policies (e.g., HIPAA) is a strong plus.
• Proficient in process engineering and re-design is a strong plus.
• Ability to:
  • Govern change control, end to end roadmap, and cross functional team alignment.
  • Support crowdsourcing plan creation, execution, communication content and monitoring.
  • Influence and execute while navigating organizational politics.
  • Manage time effectively, prioritize, and make trade-off decisions.
  • Simplify and standardize complex concepts/processes.
• Business process domain expertise.

• Knowledge of process governance tools (Sharepoint, Yammer, etc).

What Are the Requirements You Must Meet?

• Pursing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field
• Graduation date between December 2024 – June 2025
• A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Availability to work 10 weeks during the summer.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. (Currently, we are not offering this position with a student visa including F1, OPT, CPT or H1B and are not accepting or sponsoring student work visas for this role)

Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries RF/mm-Wave Reference Design Team is looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering student to join our team for summer 2024. We will work together to solve challenging RF/mm-Wave circuit problems. 

Essential Responsibilities include:

• Design and tape-out mm-Wave reference circuits on internal test chips and MPWs.
• Use industry-standard design tools to perform schematic design, physical layout, parasitic extractions, pre- and post-layout simulations, and Elector-Magnetic (EM) simulations.
• Perform circuit optimizations to meet performance requirement.
• Collaborate with design leads on multiple concurrent projects.  

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

• Education - MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline. 
• Must have transistor level circuit design understanding.  
• Knowledge and experience with RF/mm-Wave circuit design. 
• Proficient with Cadence based EDA tools.
• Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal) 
• Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• MS/PhD in RF, mm-Wave, Mixed-Signal, Analog IC design field 
• Knowledge of RF transceiver building block design (PA, LNA, VCO, PLL, MIX, VGA, Filter, etc.) 
• Knowledge of RF CMOS technologies (Bulk, SOI) is preferred.  
• Prior related internship or co-op experience
• Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
• Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Strong planning & organizational skills

SUMMARY

Assist engineers and designers with design tasks to ensure the smooth flow of operations within the engineering department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create engineering 3D models, 2D drawings, and/or electrical schematic preparation using computer aided design software.

• Create Bills of Material to support production and/or new product development.

• Create Engineering Change Notice as required to release new or revised models and drawings.

• Assist with the material selection for engineered parts.

• Conforms to Standard Operating Procedures, CAD procedures and drafting standards, and department work instructions and policies.

MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Student working towards an Associate’s degree for entire duration of internship.

• Ability to use and understand linear measurements, Imperial and Metric Systems, and proficient in reading a tape measure and other measuring devises.

• High level of attention to detail

• Strong verbal and written skills

• Ability to work 20 hours per week during the school year

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• GPA of 3.0 or greater

• Experience with CATIA or other CAD design software
