MMB continue to successfully deliver our AMP 7 projects and are preparing to move into AMP8 delivery with Thames Water. We are looking for a design lead with the knowledge, experience, and drive to take this key delivery area forward.

As a Design Lead, you will be accountable for the delivery of design for a programme of wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects through detailed design to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will also work closely with the client to provide ECI support in the solution development and outline design phase of their delivery process. You will be responsible for developing your team of Project Leaders and other discipline engineers. We are looking for a Senior RF Antenna Design Engineer to help develop next generation of satellite communication antenna systems. Reporting to the Director, you will lead EM simulations, measurements, and analysis for dielectric lenses, feed antennas, and phased arrays. This role focuses on designing and optimising antennas using EM simulations and prototypes. Experience in phased arrays, transmit, RF lenses, microstrip antennas, and metamaterials is highly valuable. Knowledge of RF circuits, scripting, and RF measurement tools is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and analyse antennas (feed antennas, dielectric lenses, arrays, radomes).
Develop antennas for manufacturing and prototypes.

Exciting opportunity for a Temporary Works Design Engineer to join the Regional team to work across UKCS Regional Civils (East, North West, Central South East and South) side of the Business based out of their Birmingham office.

Responsibilities Include: Responsible for undertaking temporary works design and checking for individual projects either independently or under the supervision of a senior engineer including:

This role requires an individual with the following qualifications, knowledge, experience and personal qualities:

A degree or HNC or equivalent in civil or structural engineering. Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of engineering principles.

Post graduate experience including either design (temporary and/or permanent works design) or site experience.

Has some experience of site based activities and a knowledge of proprietary equipment commonly used in temporary works applications.

An awareness of current design standards and codes of practice, and published guidance documents relevant to temporary works.

Able to establish good working relationships with both work colleagues and external technical consultants and suppliers.

Able to clearly and confidently communicate engineering ideas and principles both verbally and in writing. Working experience of AutoCAD, and various others design software packages (i.e. Hilti profis, Tensar, Beam Pal/ RMD Beam, GFSafe, WALLAP, ROBOT and Geo 5 software packages) used for Temporary Works designs and checks.

Working towards full membership of an appropriate professional institution (ICE or IStructE).

The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise and critical network infrastructure (CNI) to support our business objectives.

We are looking for a Substation Electrical Design Engineer to join our team!

As a Substation Design Engineer within the CMI Works Delivery team, you will be responsible for the design of a number of Capital Asset replacement projects in our substations at 11-132kV.

You will manage the initial high level scope up to 132kV system design, outage planning, CDM, safety, and risk management, financial analysis and forecasting during the design phase of projects and assist with the construction and closure phases of projects.

This is an exciting opportunity as you will be at the forefront of enabling SSE to meet its Net Zero ambitions.

Roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Manage each project's financial forecasting during the design phase, safety management, programming and scheduling, with monthly reporting.

- Comply with SSEN Governance for all design elements whilst assisting with construction, quality assurance, public relations tender management, and ensure compliance to current CDM Regulations.

- Review of, and approving incoming designs from consultants and 3rd parties, ensuring fully workable designs are produced for construction.

- Produce designs for temporary works as required.

- Work with multiple project stakeholders to develop detailed designs including protection engineers, RTS engineers, SAP's, civils, supply chain and delivery PM's.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we're looking for you to have:

- Experience in the design and specification of substation asset replacement schemes up to 132kV, as a designer or recently developed within an operational role.

- An HNC or Degree level qualification in an engineering or relevant subject with knowledge of the Electricity Distribution Network or experience from working in an ICP, IDNO, or other supplier to the industry.

- Carry out detailed substation designs including drawings (SLD's/layout/elevations) and carry out own document management, with minimal supervision. Produce detailed material lists and specify and order materials and plant.

- Experience in applying the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 to technically complex projects.

- A working knowledge of contracting & procurement methods and the necessary input to these at the design stage, such as with NEC3 type contracts.

We are looking for a CMI Electrical Design Engineer to join our team!

As a CMI (Construction, Maintenance and Inspection) Designer you will be working as part of our project refinement team responsible for a portfolio of work.

You'll be required to complete site visits across SSEN's South Distribution Network, liaising with all stakeholders to ensure the scheme you are working on is fully compliant and feasible for delivery.

You'll ensure that all network alterations driven by our CAPEX and OPEX Investment can be constructed safely, cost effectively and to SSEN's Policies and Procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity as you will be at the forefront of enabling SSE to meet its Net Zero ambitions.

Roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- A variety of network alterations, refurbishments, and wayleave terminations from LV cables, 11kV distribution substations up to and including 33kV poles.

- Liaise with customers, land agents, local authorities, and SSE colleagues to achieve a fit for purpose design, this will include visiting site.

- Identifying archaeology, ecological, environmental concerns and other land designations prior to works starting.

- Producing design deliverables (drawings, documents, access package and PCI's) to be ready for handover with construction team. All deliverables are to be produced using SSEN's Design Standards.

- Acting as Principal Designer you will ensure all schemes handed to delivery are CDM compliant, reducing and mitigating all health and safety risks.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have.

- Organisational skills and the ability to work quickly, accurately, and independently whilst under pressure.

- Knowledge and experience in the design/consents/construction of new cable routes, new overhead lines, network refurbishment, plant replacement and alterations on the LV to 33kV networks would be advantageous.

- An HNC or relevant experience in a similar field is desirable although not essential.

- Knowledge of CDM regulations and experience of working with the NRSWA code of practice.

- IOSH or similar health and safety qualification would be advantageous.

Regular travel is required and as a result we can only accept applications from candidates that hold a current driving licence.

What is the role?

SSEN Distribution has an opportunity for a Solution / Functional Architect to work within our Transformation Portfolios. The portfolios will be delivering using Agile methodologies and will be working alongside people from business & technology teams.

This role is for an experienced Solution Architect expert in Work Management technology & processes to support the evolution of our application estate by targeting the development of the functionality that supports SSE's Distribution business. The scope will focus on enterprise level IT systems that support our business and operational teams. As we deliver enhancements to our business capabilities, moving from a limited set of solutions to a modern, cloud based, application portfolio, we need to ensure we build this in a secure and robust manner. The role will drive a range of initiatives, with a focus on creating architectures for specific platforms & components, and providing the high-level designs for them to be implemented.

The successful applicant will report to the Lead Architect as part of an expanding architecture team, with the ability to influence strategy and approach. This is a great opportunity to play a pivotal role in the transformation of SSE Distribution systems to secure, dynamic and robust platforms that can support the rapid expansion of our business to meet our Net Zero targets.

Key Responsibilities for this role will include:

- Contributing to the creation of application specifications and feeding it into programmes of work for delivery, this will include consultancy across projects to ensure the technical solutions proposed are aligned with that strategy.

- Creation and ongoing ownership of roadmaps for solutions and will cover initial requirements, gap analysis, product/solution selection and prioritisation for implementation. You will use your experience to bring innovative solutions to bear on our technology landscape, with ideas for their rapid deployment to mitigate current risks.

- Working with SSE's central IT teams to align with Group IT strategy and standards that will be applied to the architecture designs for Distribution. You will also provide expert guidance to our delivery teams.

- Creation of data models and data designs that resolve data gaps or data quality issues.

- Provide an effective assurance function that ensures we deliver the right solutions, bringing together stakeholders from a range of disciplines and our Procurement teams.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A structured and methodical approach to solutioning, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely at multiple levels, and the ability to lead discussions and influence stakeholders who are used to operating with less structured approaches.

- Experience of working in a programme/project environment with involvement in the full lifecycle of delivery from planning to operations.

- In-depth knowledge and understanding of designing, developing solutions for work management, work planning, work scheduling and mobile work management solutions, automating work management business processes and translating work needs into tasks that can be efficiently dispatched.

- Specialist product knowledge of configuring work planning solutions that link priority work orders to team resources, available materials, network outages, automated traffic management noticing, access to land and other work planning constraints.

- Specialist product knowledge configuring mobile work management applications to present a simple employee experience.
