Role Overview:
As a Design Engineer, your primary responsibility is to develop innovative engineering solutions tailored to meet customer requirements. You will oversee the entire process, from conceptual design, additive/advanced manufacturing process selection, post-processing, and vendor evaluation to final design realization. In addition, you will be involved in ensuring compliance with aviation certification requirements, mentoring junior engineers, and maintaining in-house engineering procedures to support the Head of AMDC.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution:
· Ensure tasks are completed in line with in-house procedures.
· Manage engineering projects to meet schedules and budgets.
Design & Engineering:
· Formulate the technical scope of work for customer approval.
· Lead suppliers for design realization as the engineering lead.
· Design projects from concept to final engineering drawings.
· Check and approve drawings and documents for quality and accuracy.
· Optimize designs using topological optimization and load/stress analysis.
· Develop printing designs by applying Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM), including nesting optimization, support generation, and post-process selection.
Certification & Documentation:
· Define and verify certification requirements.
· Create substantiation documents such as structure analysis reports and test plans.
· Maintain accurate master lists of drawings and digital files according to procedures.
Key Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/related fields).
· Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering or mechanical design.
· Experience in Design for Additive Manufacturing (AM) or aviation engineering (both is an added advantage).
