This position is located within the Division of Facility Management at Everglades National Park and is duty stationed at park headquarters in Homestead Florida. The Supervisory Interdisciplinary (Branch Chief Design and Construction) is responsible for, and has authority to, initiate, establish, guide, and control a broad range of project planning, design and construction efforts from inception through completion.
- Supervises an interdisciplinary staff of professional designers (engineers/architects/landscape architects) and project managers to accomplish this work within Everglades and Dry Tortugas National Parks.
- Reviews and manages the Facility Management Division's annual operating budget and project budgets, adjusting account allocations over time throughout the fiscal year. Accommodates provisions for adequate staffing, completion of routine administrative work, purchase of supplies and materials, employee training and travel, AE management, and execution of specially funded projects within respective operating funds and project budgets.
- Serves as the park's Facility Management Division lead contracting officer's representative (COR). Requests funding clearance for contract modifications from WASO/Region or other authority as appropriate. Coordinates review of submittals and word of on-sight inspector, Oversees project closure (closeout: post occupancy, warranty review, as built).
- Leads and manages the park's environmental management system and maintains up to date, accurate records of the park's environmental liabilities.
- Responsible for the on-the-job safety and health of all employees supervised. Initiates efforts conforming to established local and bureau safety programs to satisfy this responsibility.
