Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Art Teacher and Curriculum Area Manager for Art to join this dedicated team from 1st September. This full-time position requires a versatile individual who can inspire students through engaging art instruction and also contribute to the broader curriculum by teaching some Design and Technology (DT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Art Teacher: Deliver high-quality art lessons to secondary school students, fostering a love for art and encouraging creative expression.
- Curriculum Management: Oversee the art curriculum, ensuring it meets educational standards and inspires student engagement.
- DT Teaching: Provide flexible and effective instruction in Design and Technology as needed.
- Leadership: Lead and support a team of art educators, promoting professional development and excellence in teaching.
- Student Development: Monitor and support student progress, providing guidance and feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
- Community Engagement: Engage with parents, guardians, and the wider school community to promote the arts and enhance the school's cultural environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential:
- A degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience in teaching art at the secondary school level.
- Ability to teach some DT.
- Desirable:
- Previous experience in curriculum management or a leadership role within a school setting.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for innovative teaching practices.
