Job Summary
Support the department's revenue cycle activities to be compliant with insurance changes and coding changes for nuclear medicine procedures and how it affects hospital revenue. Assist PET schedulers with daily activities as needed. Follows Corewell's philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.
Essential Functions
- Manage & support revenue/charge/capture process, including on-line charge entry and error correction/recovery. Collaborate with the department Facility Business Manager regarding Code Correct updates relating to codes and reimbursement.
- Assist with routine billing/reimbursement audits of all accounts.
- Resolve rejections/billing edits as identified in edit reports, rejection queues, and rejection reports, etc.
- Assist with requests from other Corewell sites regarding coding, rejections, and insurance issues. Work with the billing department on the status of claims.
- Support schedulers/office coordinators in writing up orders, answering phones, obtaining documentation from referring physician offices and serve as a backup during benefit time off.
- Direct visitors and delivery personnel.
- Enter charges for supplies, equipment, etc.
- Reconcile vendor requisitions against patient accounts.
- Handle patient insurance issues and assists with billing-related patient questions/concerns.
Qualifications
- Required High School Diploma or equivalent
- Medical billing experience. Prior experience with revenue capture. Required
- Experience with follow up/back-end billing. Knowledge of medical terminology. Preferred
