Job Summary: To provide a high standard of service in the processing of prescription requests. To act as a focal point of communication between the Clinicians, Receptionists, Practice Staff, Patients and local pharmacies as well as other health care organisations to ensure patients repeat prescriptions are produced. To also help and support the reception team to ensure the successful delivery of reception services to the patients and clinicians of the Birchwood Practice. Main duties and responsibilities: 1) Main Duties & Responsibilities Manage incoming medication requests from various sources; over the counter, website, SystmOne, emails, patients, pharmacies, care homes, and from post-dated prescription list for patients who are not able to order their own Process Prescription requests within the practice timeframe Allocate medication review to the appropriate healthcare profession when repeat medication has expired Deal with prescription queries from patients, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals either in person, online or on the telephone. Collaborate effectively with technicians and pharmacists across the medicine management team. Record clinical information on patients records through workflow, changes to medication, summaries drug information, send texts, emails and letters to patients. Monitoring when patients need medication reviews: Running SystmOne clinical reports to identify any patients that are missing certain tests, such as blood tests that are needed for the medication they are on. Request bloods on the ICE system. To call patients in for Blood pressure checks, weight checks, pill and hrt appointments. Promotion of Electronic Prescription Service, Online Ordering and Electronic Repeat Dispensing Supporting the Administrator in the sending off of Prescription Pricing Authority and ensuring correct prescriptions are claimed for Supporting the Deputy Practice Manager and IT and OPS Manager in the Ordering of medication and medical sundries, ensuring items are bought for a good price.

IUC/111 Administrative Assistant - Rotherham

We are currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to play a key role in NHS IUC, working predominantly at our Rotherham call centre site however there may be occasions when you will be required at our call centre in Wakefield.

You will be responsible for providing a confidential administrative support to the NHS IUC Team Leader group, NHS IUC Operational Service Managers and NHS IUC Call Centre Managers.

Responsibilities will include the management of diaries as required, room bookings, arranging visits and making travel arrangements, maintaining records which include collating, printing, and distributing papers for meetings.

Additional responsibilities will also include, manual handling tasks, ordering and replenishing call centre amenities such as paper and refreshments, storage and circulation of PPE, Business Continuity checks to ensure IT equipment is working as expected, reporting and follow up of faults and general Contact Centre cleanliness. There may also be a requirement to take/produce minutes from meetings.

You will need to be self-motivated and able to use own initiative whilst also able to work as part of a team when required.

The post holder will need good IT, communication, and organisational skills to enable them to coordinate arrangements and manage priorities. You will have excellent customer service and time management skills and previous administrative experience, and ideally have experience of working in a large team.

GCSE grade C or above standard in Maths and English Language or a Level 2 qualification in relevant field, i.e. Business Administration or equivalent demonstrable experience (equivalent experience constitutes the applicant being able to demonstrate administrative knowledge) is an essential requirement.
