We are looking for a Paralegal / Administrative Assistant (6 months contract) to join our Singapore office. This role reports to the Associate General Counsel and will primarily assist the Singapore Legal Department in the preparation of constitutive documents for investment fund products, handling filing matters, legal research, drafting of legal documents, ensuring proper communication, arranging of board meetings and co-ordinations of internal departments throughout the organization in relation to the authorization and ongoing operations of fund products. He/she is also expected to maintain and update database of legal documents and collate documents and information to meet requests from businesses, regulators and auditors. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to perform general administrative duties for the Legal Department in Singapore.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
- Be involved in legal aspects of business and product development
- Assist in the preparation of documentation required for the authorization as well as on-going monitoring of investment products
- Assist in the review of generic agreements, including investment management agreements for clients and corporate entities.
- Assist in the preparation of Franklin Templeton inter-company agreements
- Handle Company Secretarial work – resolution and minutes for Board and Shareholders meetings
- Research and provide updates on developing legislation in the region
- Proactive and participate in company’s engagement initiatives
- General administration duties for the legal team including mailing/scanning/faxing, typing of documents, record keeping/filing, setting up and arranging meetings and booking of flights, hotel etc.
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
- At least a diploma in Law or a related discipline
- Up to 5 years of relevant experience. Previous relevant working experience in law firm or in investment management firm as a paralegal will be highly desirable
- Experience working in an international organization is desirable
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of unit trust/mutual fund /asset management industry is desirable
- Familiarity with regulations relating to authorization of investment products in Hong Kong is desirable
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple responsibilities with positive attitude; and ability to learn new matters
- Meticulous and organized
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and in a team environment
- Adequate commercial awareness
- Ability to communicate confidently across all levels
- Strong problem-solving capabilities
- Positive outlook and ability to work under pressure
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
