Children In Care Service – Empowering Young Lives
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Looked After Children Through Care Team working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Young People as a Personal Advisor.
The team works with children who are in the care of the local authority with a specific focus on Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Young People and provides an after-care service for young people (16-25 year olds).
As a Personal Advisor, you will provide a direct service to young people preparing to leave local authority care and will ensure continued support is offered to care-leavers in the community. Your responsibilities will include advising and assisting in the drawing up, implementation and review of young people's pathway to independence plans. This will involve attending and contributing to reviews and meetings, providing advice, information and support to other colleagues and building effective working relationships with key agencies.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic who ideally has experience of working directly with children, young people and families and good knowledge of the assessment process and supporting young people into adulthood. The ability to remain organised, and maintain accurate plans, reports and records is essential. You should be equipped with the ability to manage competing caseload demands and have a strong and genuine commitment to championing the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
