Each directorate has a nominated governance lead who is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the local clinical audit program and relevant NICE guidance for the area. This role will work closely with the governance leads and/or clinical teams to actively support and monitor the progress of audit programmes, attend any relevant meetings, or forums and provide opportunities for clinical audit training as required. The postholder will be required to support Trust high priority clinical audit work such as mandatory returns, national audit, audit, and improvement work linked to safety (audits related to Patient Safety Investigation (PSI) action plans and safety incidents, Trust wide governance audits). The postholder will be expected to work autonomously on audit projects and providing support and guidance for the review and implementation of relevant NICE guidance. The postholder will lead, support and manage the Clinical Audit team including involvement in annual appraisal processes.
