• Performs a wide range of tasks involving the maintenance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of financial accounting data and the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and theories in the management of financial accounts and operations and other related activities.
• Posts general ledger accounts from original documents received utilizing the principles of accounting and double entry bookkeeping.
• Reviews, examines, verifies, and analyzes for validity, completeness and accuracy.
• Work assignments may encompass both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Obtains missing or corrected data and information from supporting documents and /or the program manager.
• Extracts information from several sources ensuring that all required information is included.

• Prepares Budget submissions and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) to reflect Agency outyear staffing and funding requirements.

Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to the following:

• Receives, analyzes and posts deposits into patient accounts on a daily basis. Assures that deposits reflect amounts of private source or gratuitous funds.
• Prepares monthly reconciliation reports, prepares schedules for advance payments, reviews and approves outstanding obligations, and prepares all vouchers to transfer funds to other agencies.
• Determines all legal eligibility and entitlement to government-issued clothing, services and incidentals. Certifies and approves availability of funds for group purchases, such as recreation activities, social events, and barber or beauty supplies
• Reviews, analyzes and responds to all telephonic, written or personal -inquiries from a variety of sources concerning patient's funds and beneficiary travel.
• Advises the VA Regional Office, guardians, committees, and others of anticipated discharges and assists in preparing a budget of funds after patient's discharge.
• Controls and maintains an annual budget of approximately $5,000,000.00 in multiple control points.
• Determines legal eligibility on all applicants claiming beneficiary travel.

• Serves as the Supervisory Auditor in a branch or resident office responsible for the supervision, conduct, and accomplishment of a segment of the audit program. Leads a major segment of the total audit program plan.
• Serves as a team leader and member of a participative work team (PWT) consisting of professional auditors. Establishes annual goals complementary to region/agency goals and objectives.
• Reviews audit programs, working papers, progress on the audit assignment, and draft audit reports. Ensures that quantitative methods and computerized auditing techniques are being utilized as appropriate in the audit process.
• Communicates DCAA audit services and maintains audit liaison with acquisition officials.
• Counsels and advises employees. Evaluates performance, recommends and approves training and development, recommends recognition and promotion, and initiates appropriate remedial action for performance or conduct deficiencies.

This position involves a multi-grade career ladder. The major duties listed below represent the full performance level of GS-7. At the GS-6 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence. Duties will include, but may not be limited to the following:

• Evaluates/examines daily the accuracy and validity of the documentation gathered.
• Gathers information daily of the financial/administrative nature from multiple financial sources and accounting systems, both internal and external.
• Compiles data into understandable forms and reports for management.
• Presents forms and reports by way of spreadsheets, word documents, and PowerPoint presentations.

• Serves as the office manager of the Office of the Director, Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) providing high-level administrative support and coordination for senior executives (federal GOFO/SES level).
• Independently establishes and monitors suspense on all incoming actions. Accepts, records, and monitors DoD and external tasking sent to the Agency via the DoD tasking system.
• Receives visitors and telephone calls from high-ranking officials of the Federal government, non-DoD agencies, members of Congress, the Executive Branch, foreign governments, representatives of industry, and staff and regional directors.
• Oversee Agency-wide correspondence management, including processing, distribution, and archiving in line with DoD policies. Develop guidance, review correspondence for regulation adherence, and educate staff on formats.
• Serve as records management officer, analyzing official correspondence to ensure compliance with directives and manuals. Ensure front office correspondence is properly processed and archived.
• Provide agency staff accurate, timely advice on procedures, reports, and other matters necessary to implement the Director's policies, directives and instructions.
• Operate and maintain a Government Vehicle, ensuring vehicle upkeep and safe transportation of Senior Executives in the National Capital Region.
