Senior Audit Manager – Technology Hybrid – Attached to the Hook/London office Full Time, Permanent £80,000
- £90,000 (dependent on experience)
Serco Global Internal Audit (GIA) provide an objective and independent review of the design and operation of risk management, control and governance processes operated across the Group. GIA also adds value by providing advice to the business on improvements they can make to those processes. GIA deliver a risk-based programme of audits across the breadth of the business including contracts, functions, systems and major programmes across four regional markets (UK & Europe, Americas, Middle East and Asia Pacific).
GIA is now looking for an experienced Senior Audit Manager to position the function for the future and bring technology skills into the team. This role will champion the development and implementation of GIA’s IT audit and Data Strategy, including the application of Data Analytics, upskilling and coaching the team in technology related matters. In addition, you will also be involved in various programmes, projects and Boards and play a key role in the delivery of the overall functions strategy.
Internal audit is separate to and independent of the business but needs to develop and maintain strong and influential relationships with the Executive Committee, divisional executive teams, senior management, and a range of other key stakeholders. This role will therefore be expected to build and maintain those relationships with senior leaders across the Group and to keep abreast of the activities being undertaken and issues arising in those areas.
As part of this you’ll:
- Apply a technology lens to our overall audit approach and work – integrating technology into business operations audits where appropriate
- Champion the development, implementation and embedding of GIA’s approach to auditing technology, cyber and programme risks across the Group
- Promote the application of Data Analytics across all aspects of GIA’s work
- Translate technology risks and outcomes to business impacts
- Lead the delivery of all aspects of internal audits, including annual planning, engagement planning and delivery, identification of common themes and recommendations using inhouse and co-sourced resources
- Interact with our co-source providers, particularly in relation to any audit work they undertake for GIA relating to technology, cyber and programme audits. Be able to assess the effectiveness and quality of their audit work
- Deliver Internal Audits in accordance with GIA policies and procedures and in line with the approved plan and budget
- Act as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders, ensuring strong two-way communications and collaboration are maintained
What you’ll need to do the role:
- CISA Certification is desirable
- Good understanding of standard core operational and assurance processes for Technology, Cyber, Data and programme management processes
- Being able to speak the ‘same language’ as Technology teams and build credibility
- Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders as well as day-to-day relationships with auditees and external providers
- Strong influencer and ability to navigate multiple stakeholders and complexity in organisation
- Ability to bridge technology and the business when explaining risks, impacts and outcomes
- Drive and passion for continuous improvement and challenging the way we do things
- both within internal audit and across the business
- Appetite for / experience of coaching, motivating and developing people as well as well as self-development
- Overseas travel will be required – up to 30% of time
