The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, and providing strategic guidance on financial matters. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure financial compliance and efficiency, as well as supporting the executive team with financial planning and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
• Analyze financial data and present insights to the management team.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop and manage the company’s annual budget and financial forecasts.
• Monitor actual performance against budget, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Support departments in preparing their budgets and forecasts.

Accounting Operations:

• Oversee the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Ensure the accuracy of all financial transactions and records.
• Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting.

Compliance and Audits:

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Coordinate external audits and work closely with auditors to ensure successful audit outcomes.
• Manage tax reporting and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Cash Flow Management:

• Monitor cash flow and manage cash reserves to ensure the company’s financial stability.
• Develop strategies for effective cash management and optimize working capital.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including profitability analysis, cost analysis, and investment analysis.
• Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections.

Strategic Planning:

• Collaborate with senior management in developing long-term financial strategies.
• Provide financial insights to support business growth and expansion initiatives.
• Participate in the development of corporate strategies and plans.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Ensure team members are trained on accounting standards and financial procedures.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support career development for team members.

Risk Management:

• Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure that the company has adequate insurance coverage and risk management policies in place.

Systems and Process Improvement:

• Evaluate and implement financial systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Continuously seek ways to improve financial processes and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or similar certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Job Responsibilities :

• Plan and conduct IT audits in accordance with the approved annual audit plan.
• Assist to develop audit program and prepare audit work documentation as guided by the Internal Audit’s documentation standard to support audit conclusion and results.
• Prepare and discuss audit findings with relevant departments and develop practical, value added recommendations to address the root cause of the issues identified.
• Monitor and follow-up to ensure agreed improvement plans are timely implemented.
• Involvement in the Company’s J-SOX assessment process and other ad-hoc projects as and when required.

Requirements :

• Degree or relevant professional qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information System Auditing / Security.
• A minimum of 4 years of IT audit / IT security experience.
• Good organisational and analytical skills, and possess strong sense of ownership to complete assigned tasks, audits within the stipulated timeframe.
• Good command of English with good report writing and communication skills.
• A good team player with high level of integrity, initiatives, and good interpersonal skills.

The candidate selected for this position will:

1. Assist in performing audits of small defined-pension plans which have no obvious complicating features.

2. Enter data extracted from audit reports to prepare or help construct tables and charts; or prepare spreadsheets or other workpapers in support of the audit staff or to facilitate the presentation of audit findings in connection with a variety of audits/reviews carried out on an ongoing basis.

1. Provides financial accounting advice, analysis, and assistance to the Financial Manager, USPFO, and all organizational elements of the respective state NG regarding the development of accounting policies, systems, and operating procedures. Performs duties involving: receipt and distribution of funds throughout the state; maintaining the standard general ledger reporting system; analyzing report data which records transactions within the system for the purpose of correcting errors, recommending action on unfavorable trends, and preparing financial schedules for briefings, etc.; revising the system structure to implement new reporting requirements; and advising and assisting financial analysts in supported organizations on these matters. Applies professional accounting principles, analysis, theories, concepts, and practices to unique situations; employs accounting policies/standards in the resolution of unprecedented problems/situations; and utilizes non-conventional methodologies as required. Implements policies and procedures encompassing different facets of accounting, i.e., general fund accounting, cost accounting, and reimbursement accounting and working capital funds. As the Senior Accountant in the division, assists, guides, directs and oversees all professional accounting work of the division.
