Who we’re looking for:

The Internal Audit Manager reports to the Head of Non-Financial Risk and is a key component of the Group’s risk management strategy. This is a hands-on role, which requires a high level of versatility. Collaborating internally and externally where required, the Internal Audit Manager will aim to deliver a well-balanced assurance program, using audit evidence and Risk forums to help implement process change, enabling achievement of the company’s strategic plan.

What you’ll be doing:

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Leading the end to end Internal Audit function to achieve balanced, commercial and value-adding assurance outcomes, to continuously improve adherence to the FleetPartners Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Management Strategy
• Contributing to audit strategy and planning activity, ensuring the plan is relevant to the needs of the business
• Developing effective stakeholder relationships at all levels in all areas of the business, including relevant third parties
• Delivering the day-to-day completion of audit activity in line with the Internal Audit Framework, including robust investigation, review and validation of wing-to-wing processes and control points, performing in-depth Test of Control (ToC) and Test of Effectiveness (ToE) exercises as evidence and clearly articulating audit findings and recommendations in a factual and insightful audit reports
• Provide independent and objective assurance over key business processes in accordance with the audit plan and key control testing plan or as directed by the Executive or the Board
• Support the Group in proactively and regularly reviewing business processes for continuous improvement, including documenting and reviewing processes and controls to ensure key risks are mitigated
• Monitor recommended and agreed remediation actions and follow-up as necessary to ensure risks are effectively addressed
• Preparation and Communication of audit status updates to key stakeholders, including status of open audit actions

• Be familiar with all enterprise system capabilities relevant to the Internal Audit function

• Practicable experience in Internal Audit, ideally within the fleet leasing industry, however strong candidates from risk advisory or broader financial services or banking sectors will also be considered
• Tertiary qualification or equivalent in audit and / or risk management disciplines, with demonstration of a strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management and assurance
• Experience with identifying, documenting and assessing risk and controls within the first, second or third line
• Strong understanding of Regulatory Compliance and Operational Risks impacting the fleet leasing industry
• Excellent attention to detail, presentation and communication skills
• Ability to think on your feet, self-motivated, forward thinking who thrives when collaborating with others to continuously improve the way we work

What you'll be doing

How you’ll succeed

• Risk reviews -  Contribute to the development of the annual Audit Plan for Information Technology Infrastructure audit in assessing technology infrastructure and systems, information security, access and data related  risk coverage across all audit groups. Be able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of IT risk, including changes to the regulatory and business environments.

• Execute audits - Participate or manage the audit execution of technology related audits within the portfolio. Ensure the audit engagements maintain thorough and high quality results within defined audit plans and budgets. Provide leading edge audit services, and ensure identification of emerging risks.

• Facilitate communication - Communicate trends in risk and control issues to Internal Audit management and contribute to reports to senior management on the results of ongoing reviews of information technology infrastructure, information security, technology systems including Cloud services as well as access and data across CIBC. As the subject matter expert, when required, review contracts and provide feedback to procurement and other stakeholders, ensuring that audit rights are included.  

Who you are

• You have 2-4 years of technology audit experience and can demonstrate having a broad and deep knowledge and understanding of risks associated with technology infrastructure, networks, system access and security, cloud technology, regulatory requirements and best practices in technology controls. You will also have knowledge of auditing practices, procedures and principles that enable you to analyze client operations, assess risks, and select the most suitable audit approach. You must have proven ability to write comprehensive and concise reports that have been utilized by senior leadership.

• You’re a certified professional. You have a current accreditation in any of the following: CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor; CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional; In-depth knowledge of COBIT and working knowledge of ITIL, ISO and NIST frameworks.

The Product Operations Audit team within the Corporate Audit Division (CAD) supports the effective management of regulatory topics relevant to BMO Operations through our audit work and advisory activities. Your Key Responsibilities:

The Audit Manager is accountable for delivering high-quality audit work of all types across back end operations across the company. You will review, analyze and improve internal operational controls and address operational and financial risks. You will execute on audit assignments and special projects in accordance with the department standards. Qualifications:

Groupon is looking for a talented, highly motivated individual to join its Corporate Accounting team as a Senior Manager, specifically focused on technical accounting and supporting external reporting matters. This is very much a “hands on” role that will interact with various teams and departments across the business including Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Corporate Development, among others. This role will have a high level of visibility with regular opportunities to work directly with Accounting leadership, including the Chief Accounting Officer, Senior Director and Director of Corporate Accounting, and Global Controller. The ideal candidate for this role is a strong team player and proactive self-starter who is highly analytical, thoughtfully collaborative in working with business partners and efficient in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

As a Corporate Accounting Senior Manager, your responsibilities will include: assessing and documenting the accounting treatment for material transactions to inform management decision-making; establishing global accounting policies, including the adoption of new accounting standards; partnering with operational accounting teams and other stakeholders to develop reporting needed to account for new initiatives and material transactions; executing on judgmental month-end close activities such as developing significant management estimates for variable consideration and legal reserves; supporting external reporting activities conducted by the team's SEC reporting function. Material transactions include but are not limited to business combinations and divestitures, compensation arrangements, significant contracts with third-parties and new business initiatives.

You’ll spend your time on the following:

• Research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with Company policies and US GAAP guidance for various areas including goodwill, leases, share-based compensation, revenue recognition, investments, consolidation, business combinations, foreign currency and other matters and prepare related white-paper documentation.

• Facilitate the process of implementing new accounting standards and pronouncements to ensure the Company is prepared to comply at the necessary time of adoption.

• Review existing accounting policies to ensure ongoing applicability to the business and compliance with changes in accounting standards.

• Work closely with the Finance, Tax, Treasury, Legal, HR and Corporate Development teams to evaluate the accounting implications of terms and conditions of significant transactions and initiatives.

• Estimate material reserves, including gathering necessary operational data, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of inputs, verifying the methodology of estimation models and assessing impacts of current business practices and new initiatives on model outputs.

• Assist with ad-hoc questions raised by the business and assess the relevant accounting implications.

• Collaborate with the team's SEC Reporting function to support external reporting matters including quarterly and annual filings, proxy statements and current reports.

• Develop training initiatives and create relevant materials to foster continued development and accounting-specific education across the broader organization.

• Coach and develop senior analysts.

We’re excited about you if you have/are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA preferred

• 10+ years of relevant accounting experience; combination of public accounting and industry experience at a public company is highly preferred

• Strong background in technical accounting research and analysis; sound understanding of US GAAP is required

• Ability to review and interpret new and proposed accounting regulations; SEC reporting experience is a plus

• Excellent communication skills, delivering both written and verbal messages clearly and succinctly

• Proficiency with MS Office and GSuite applications; high-level of comfort with Excel is required

• Workiva experience is preferred, but not required

• Detail oriented with a penchant for preparing meticulously accurate work.

Position Summary

The Internal Audit department works proactively with the organization to mitigate risk and provide assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, while also providing meaningful insights and solutions to improve business processes.

The Internal Audit Senior Manager will report to the Internal Audit Senior Director and serve as a value-added resource in designing and executing assurance responsibilities to help the organization achieve its objectives. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the projects and development of the Manager on the Internal Audit team. The candidate will collaborate with the Internal Audit team to achieve the goals of the annual audit plan. The candidate will build relationships with teams across the organization and develop meaningful recommendations to improve and simplify business processes. The candidate will have a hands-on approach and be involved in all aspects of audit projects, from planning to execution. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring processes are relevant and consistently applied in accordance with corporate and compliance standards.

The Internal Audit Senior Manager shall be bound by the Code of Ethics as defined by the Institute of Internal Auditors as well as the organization’s Code of Ethics with respect to maintaining confidentiality, objectivity, integrity and competence in its accumulation and use of all company data and records.

Major Responsibilities

• Leads and develops all phases of audit projects, ensuring risks are considered and addressed, and compliance and quality standards are met.

Requirements

- Experience / Background:

• Minimum of 8+ years of internal audit/external audit experience.
• Advisory-related or risk management experience a plus.
• Industry experience desirable.

- Education / Certification:

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Analysis, or related field.
• Recognized accounting/information system/auditing certification required: CPA, CISA, CIA and/or CISSP

- Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively communicate at all levels.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships, but also challenge the business, when necessary.
• Strong business process knowledge combined with an ability to identify opportunities for process improvements.
