Position Overview

The Corporate Accounting team is seeking a well-rounded, strong performer who will be a key contributor to the worldwide close process. The ideal candidate has corporate and/or public accounting experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high quality work in a high energy team environment. The position can be located anywhere on the west coast and will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager. This role presents an outstanding growth opportunity for candidates who are looking to develop their experience in a Controllership organization.

Responsibilities

• Play an integral part in the worldwide close process through preparing, analyzing and reviewing assigned general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and other analysis to support the consolidated financial statements

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP for various accounting areas (for example, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, centralized allocations, and quarter-end accruals). Prepare and review accounting entries as appropriate

• Work closely with business partners and accounting teams worldwide to understand changes in the business and statutory requirements which impact US GAAP accounting areas

• Prepare flux analyses and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and schedules for management and external auditors as appropriate

• Prepare analysis of non-departmental costs for FP&A forecasts

• Review and prepare various cost allocations by functions

• Analyze technical accounting issues under US GAAP and prepare accounting memos addressing technical issues as required

• Analyze technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the Finance community, as required

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to optimize the financial close process. These projects include information systems improvements as well as creating efficiencies with manual processes

• Government surveys

• Additional ad hoc and special projects as required

Minimum Requirements

• BA in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence

• 5+ years of related experience (minimum 2 years of public accounting experience a plus)

• A working knowledge of SAP is preferred

• Experience with BlackLine a plus

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA qualification required

• Experience in multi-national public companies is preferred (Experience in software industry a plus)

• Able to demonstrate a solid understanding of relevant accounting principles under US GAAP

• Proactive, excellent planning, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to a non-technical audience

• Detailed oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills, organized and thorough with desire for continuous improvement and growth

• Strong excel skills and ability to analyze data

• Ability to work well in a team and as an individual contributor

• Ability to prioritize workload, perform in a fast-paced global environment and work overtime during peak times such as quarter-end

Position Overview

The M&A Accounting Operations team supports company-wide strategic initiatives such as those revolving around our business model transformation, mergers and acquisitions and digital financial transformation. The Senior Revenue Analyst will report to the M&A Accounting Operations Senior Manager to support revenue operations for all mergers and acquisitions in addition to traditional accounting tasks. This position can work remotely from anywhere in the USA.

Responsibilities  

• Support M&A Accounting Operations Manager to integrate acquired entities into the Autodesk ecosystem in the most efficient and automated manner 

• Analyze accounting, reporting and process implications of acquired entities and provide guidance  

• Perform account monthly analysis and reconciliations for M&A revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable

• Prepare monthly journal entries for M&A revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable in accordance with ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers 

• Responsible for the preparation of quarterly audit schedules and prepare periodic reports to support internal and external reporting requirements 

• Implement and document processes and procedures as required including Sarbanes Oxley compliance 

• Support and participate in companywide projects for revenue accounting as well as order to cash cycles 

• Preparation of technical accounting memos (specifically, detailing the application of ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers)

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• At least 3 years of experience; combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred

• "Self-starter" with outstanding analytical, communication, and technical skills and a can-do attitude

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently 

• Experience with monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, problem resolution, audit schedule preparation and working with external and internal auditors 

• Experience performing contract analysis under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Experience documenting accounting conclusions under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Rev Pro etc.)

Preferred Qualifications 

• Knowledge of ASC 805-Business Combinations

• CPA license

• Experience in the software industry

Job Description

The Senior IT audit Analyst will be responsible for leading, planning, organizing and executing IT internal audits throughout the Company (including system control reviews, business process controls, external IT Risk assessments, privacy, financial, operational, consulting and fraud investigation). Global Internal Audit is seen as an integrated function in that both business and technology controls are covered during the reviews. Entities to be reviewed may include international sales offices and shared service locations, Corporate and divisional functions, manufacturing plants, and 3rd party channel partners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Leverage data analytics during planning and execution to optimize coverage and effectiveness.

• Assessing the impact/risk associated with any areas of concern identified through the audit process, proposing recommendations to address these risks, and working with management to develop appropriate corrective actions. 

• Communicating and presenting effectively to business management to ensure clarity regarding audit results and that appropriate action plans are being implemented.

• Developing working relationships with various levels of management, acting as a problem-solving resource, while continuously sharing best practices and areas for improvement.

• Proactively identify opportunities where Internal Audit or local operations under review can add value to the Company.

• Learning and applying the internal audit methodology consistently to all engagements.

• Ensuring working papers and other deliverables are complete, accurate, presented in a clear and logical manner leading to final conclusions and exceptions.

• Providing support, mentoring, and feedback to audit team members throughout the audit. Provide assistance with onboarding and ongoing support to new team members.

• As needed, assist with special projects related to business process improvement or internal team needs.  

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting, Finance and/or Computer Science disciplines preferred

• Typically requires 3 – 7 years of progressive experience with a Big Four firm, or combined experience with a large, complex multi-national company

Knowledge & Skills

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience related to information systems risks, controls and auditing.

• Strong project/time management skills with the ability to organize and handle multiple priorities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to articulate effectively and professionally.

• Strong understanding of the relationship of information systems, internal controls and business processes with financial statement assertions, including a solid understanding of SOX 404 controls and the underlying risks.

• Knowledge and experience in control theory and professional auditing practices.

• Ability to use relationships and insights to successfully influence others. Builds authentic and trusted relationships to create alignment and support

• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and internal controls; IFRS knowledge a plus.

• Experience with data analytics and in using Tableau, Microsoft BI, Alteryx, ACL or IDEA a plus.

• Experience with Oracle and/or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems are desired.

Certifications

• CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP and/or CRISC preferred. Other relevant certifications will be considered.
