Job Profile Summary
This position supports the operations of the College's Accounting department. Under limited supervision, the purpose of the job is to perform financial analysis and accounting functions related to general ledger maintenance and reconciliation. Employees in this job classification are responsible for analyzing financial and operating data and preparing management reports and financial statements as necessary. Performs related work as directed.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's degree required in Accounting.
Minimum Experience/Training:
Six years of relevant experience.
Essential Functions:
- Daily - 25%: Analyzes Balance Sheet and PNL accounts to identify errors and propose adjustments with minimal supervision utilizing strong technical accounting knowledge for contribution to accurate and timely financial statements. Assists with quarterly and annual financial statement preparation.
- Daily - 25%: Performs detail analysis of the payroll system and recommends necessary adjustment in a timely manner
- Daily - 15%: Analyzes and reconciles long term debt and proposes appropriate adjustments.
- Daily - 15%: Keeps abreast of pertinent accounting pronouncements and assists in researching their impact to the college’s financial system
- Daily - 15%: Interacts with internal and external auditors, participates in audit support and/or provides information and access to accounting records as required. Monitors and reviews accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness. Leads lower level technical staff.
- Daily - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
