Key responsibilities:
J-SOX

Interviews with internal stakeholders - Participate in/lead interviews with internal stakeholders to understand and document financial and operational process flows, risks and controls as part of J-SOX implementation activities.
Assist with design of test procedures - Assist with evaluation of key controls and business processes to design appropriate test procedures for Tests of Design & Tests of Effectiveness.
Documentation and Testing of J-SOX Processes - Complete relevant checklists, flowcharts, narratives and risk and control matrices as required.
Perform testing in accordance with the J-SOX test plan and document results, resulting in high quality outputs. Gather and collate supporting documentation.
Facilitate remediation with Control Owners - Facilitate remediation of processes that do not currently meet J-SOX requirements with Control Owners. Update documentation as required when remediation is achieved.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gains experience, exposure, and knowledge of procedures, workpapers and systems.
• Supports multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expands industry knowledge, through greater exposure to peers, clients, and formal training opportunities.
• Completes research and special projects as needed.
• Communicates effectively with clients and CLA family members on a regular basis.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Working towards the achievement of a bachelor’s degree – Degree in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and reporting of financial data.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Your day in the life of a Internal Auditor at Optus

This is a role within the Sydney-based Internal Audit (“IA”) group, which is focused on Risk based technology audits and reviews at Singtel’s Australian operations, comprising Optus, NCS, its subsidiaries, associates and other Singtel Group entities.

The ‘Internal Audit Manager – RA’ role is responsible for completing audits of processes, systems, projects relevant to the various revenue streams to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls. The Audit Manager supports the planning, execution, and reporting of audits, including liaison with senior management of Optus and Singtel on audit results.

IA’s primary goal is providing assurance to management on the operation of controls and the business’ management of risk by completing audits and reviews using a risk-based methodology. The areas to be audited are determined by the preparation of an Audit Plan and from ad hoc requests from the Singtel Audit Committee, Optus Advisory Committee or Senior Management in Optus and Singtel.

Your skills to pay the bills
• Degree qualified in Business, Finance, IT or Accounting;
• Experience with Telco network infrastructure and supporting systems and demonstrative understanding of expected risks and controls (ideal);
• Proven audit experience, preferably in Big 4 accounting firms or Internal Audit department of a large corporate or MNC;
• Experience in digital/ tech industry is a plus;
• Experience of process analysis and control assessment to identify weaknesses and improvement areas including an understanding of system infrastructure and information/data flows;
• Risk awareness, with understanding of business processes and controls;
• Understanding of data analytics concepts. Experience performing data analysis a plus; &
• Experience in using Audit Management System and familiarity with Continuous Auditing and Agile methodology a plus.
