The role:

- Lead a variety of interesting and complex audit assignments across multiple sectors, liaising with managers and partners when required
- Prepare audit files, undertake audit planning and lead/assist with fieldwork
- Assist in work allocation and supervise more junior team members on audits, providing support, training, and reviewing their work
- Ensure audit assignments are completed to a high standard, in time and within budgets agreed with Directors
- Supervise and review jobs completed by less senior members of staff
- Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for Managers, Directors, and clients
- Preparing statutory accounts and finalise accounts under the overall supervision of your Line Manager
- Preparing corporation tax computations
- Maintain up to date and relevant technical knowledge of the industry and national economic issues
- Input in to service and product pricing, including assisting with new client quotes
- Building productive working relationships within Shaw Gibbs and with clients as required
- Developing and applying your technical knowledge through on-the-job training

About you:

- ACCA/ACA qualified or almost qualified
- Minimum of 3 years’ UK Audit practice experience, some accounts experience is also a must
- Preference for a University degree with at least a 2:1 or minimum 3 A-Levels (A, B, B or above)
- Xero, Sage, Caseware and CCH experience would be an advantage
- Fully fluent in English with proven communication skills, both written and verbal
- Exceptional attention to detail

This job is responsible for managing the execution of a comprehensive internal audit  program for Highmark Health and its subsidiaries and affiliates.  This includes conducting audits and internal control assessments in a manner in which all relevant risks are assessed in an efficient manner to determine completeness, accuracy, validity, and restricted access and/or effectiveness of the control environment. The Internal Audit department is dedicated to providing objective assurance and consultation designed to add value and improve enterprise-wide operations and support compliance.  Internal Audit helps the organization to accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes by providing insight and recommendations based on analyses and assessments of data and business process.  The scope of audit and advisory engagements is broad, and includes the efficiency of operations, the reliability of financial reporting, deterring and investigating fraud, safeguarding assets, and compliance with laws and regulations, including but not limited to, control design and testing in support of compliance requirements.  Audit and advisory projects often address management requests and consultation to provide comfort over identified risks, new business processes, strategic initiatives and vendor reviews.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.  Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.

• Audit & Advisory Engagement & Issue Management - Provide leadership role and collaborates with the Director and other members of the team, including business owners to plan and execute audit and advisory engagements in an efficient and effective manner. • Audit & Advisory Engagement Planning - Interact and maintain productive business relationships with business leaders and individual contributors at all levels.  Collaborates  business partners and staff on solutions to support effective and efficient execution of audit and advisory engagements. Be a valued business partner worthy of providing feedback and consultation related to existing or emerging internal controls, compliance matters, and audit findings. 

• Manages and maintains a risk based Internal Audit & Advisory Services Plan which is  flexible, agile and connected to newly emerging risks changing business needs. This includes developing, deploying and communicating necessary staffing needs.

• Audit & Advisory Reporting and Monitoring - Accountable for managing and monitoring the completion of remediation efforts and manages timely follow-up audits as necessary.

• Partnership & Communication - Interacts and maintains productive business relationships with business leaders and individual contributors at all levels. effective and efficient execution of audit and advisory engagements.  

• Seeks out opportunities to create innovative, efficient and value added audit procedures through the use of tools supporting enhanced data analytics and robotic process automation.

• Ensures synergy with other Enterprise Risk and Governance Department efforts to facilitate appropriate communication, and leverage work performed where practical and possible.

Job Responsibilities:

• Process invoices/check requests using automated AP system
• Enters vouchers into AP system and reviews for accuracy.  For employee expense reports, make sure all receipts are attached and adheres to policy.

• Assigns correct affiliate/GL account coding to each voucher.  For patient related invoices, verify pay status and determine appropriate reimbursement rates.

• Assigns approver and submits for approval.

• Adds any voucher that requires special attention to the special handling log.

• For new vendors, obtains a copy of the vendors’ W-9 as well as ACH information for proper set-up into the system.

• Communicates with vendors and teams with regards to problems/questions concerning invoices.
• Updates all required logs.
• Reviews system queues/reports to ensure all invoices are being paid in a timely manner.

What You Will Do:

 The DoD Financial Management/Audit Remediation Managing Consultant helps clients optimize all elements of their finance organization, including:

• Leads audit remediation activities for multiple end-to-end business process areas to include the following responsibilities: developing/updating/reviewing process documentation (e.g., narratives and flow charts), designing solutions to address gaps in preparation for a financial statement audit (i.e. Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFR)), assisting stakeholders with implementing corrective actions plans, and developing metrics for reporting on remediation progress;

• Leads testing of FM internal controls and IT Complimentary User Entity Controls (CUEC) for design and operating effectiveness, as well as performs testing of corrective actions to validate new processes/controls are fully implemented;

• Provides targeted area support based on Component (e.g., working capital fund audit readiness, etc.);

• Creates and delivers client work products in accordance with project plans; and

• Applies federal accounting, financial management, and audit knowledge/expertise when developing solutions and providing recommendations to client.

• An ACTIVE and CURRENT SECRET federal security clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or another related field from an accredited college or university.

• FIVE (5) years of experience in supporting financial management, audit, change management, strategic communications, business process reengineering, data analytics, or financial management systems implementation initiatives.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Demonstrates experience with knowledge of federal accounting and auditing standards and guidance in relation to:

  • Familiarity with DoD systems including DAI, ADVANA, DPAS, TRIRIGA, , etc.;

We are seeking a Director of Accounting to manage accounting processes that impact key lines of business supported by the Ticketmaster North America Accounting group.  The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting rules and will manage all reporting due to internal and external stakeholders.  The role will manage, mentor and coach a team of accountants at various levels and be responsible for training and career development related to the team.  Our ideal candidate will roll up their sleeves and be actively involved in accounting processes at a detailed level.  The candidate should have 15+ years of increasing responsibility in accounting including at least 5+ years of demonstrated experience in managing and motivating an accounting staff at all levels.

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules in support of the Live Nation consolidated financial reporting process
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while creating and promoting a supportive work environment

• Organize and manage responses to internal and external audits including quarterly and annual SOX and financial audits
• Participate in ERP financial system transformation projects and other special projects, as needed

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

About this Position

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Revenue Accounting and Valuation Manager is responsible for the accounting of the lifetime value of commission revenue recognized for the Company's Senior Health segment.  Responsibilities include developing the estimate for the lifetime value of commission revenue expected from the distribution of senior health insurance policies and the quarterly valuation of the renewal commission receivable recognized by the Company. In addition, this role will be responsible for administering the annual goodwill impairment analysis performed for the reporting unit and recognizing accounting entries for the amortization of acquisition-related intangible assets.  This role will also participate in the research of technical revenue recognition concepts for changes in contractual relationships or new product lines relating to the Company's products that recognize revenue in accordance with ASC 606.

Revenue recognition for Senior Health Segment - Operate the Senior Health segment's revenue recognition valuation model. Perform controls effectively to ensure completeness and accuracy of the data input into the model and the outputs used to prepare revenue journal entries. Use data analytics to identify trends in commission data to ensure revenue lifetime value estimates are appropriate and continuously enhance the effectiveness of the model.  Understand variances in activity and communicate results to executive management.  Coordinate processes across corporate and segment leadership teams to ensure proper revenue recognition accounting.  

Coordinate annual goodwill impairment analysis - Coordinate preparation of annual goodwill impairment analysis. Develop per unit lifetime value of commissions estimates and cash collection schedules. Document controls to assess the reasonableness of segment management's projected financial information. Collaborate with external specialists to determine key assumptions used to calculate the reporting unit's fair value.  Coordinate with external auditors to complete audit of the goodwill impairment process.                                                                                                

Accounting for intangible assets - Prepare the amortization entries for the intangible assets on a quarterly basis. Monitor the assets to determine if there are any triggering events that would require an adhoc impairment analysis. Complete monthly/quarterly account reconciliations to support the balances.

                                                                                               
Research Revenue Accounting Topics - Research technical revenue accounting concepts as they apply to the Company's Senior Health segment and other non-insurance contract product lines.  Help develop revenue recognition accounting policies for new or modified contracts with customers.  

                                                                                              
Assist in the preparation of revenue disclosures included in financial statements - Review the Company's revenue recognition disclosures in financial statements and provide feedback to ensure disclosures are appropriate and consistent with US GAAP. Contribute to the preparation of analytical explanations for revenue in the Company's Senior Health segment.     

             

Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications                                                        

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Data Science or related field 
• 4 – 5 years of work experience with  financial valuation and/or revenue recognition concepts
• Experience with the execution or testing of SOX 404 internal controls including the validation of the completeness and accuracy of data used to prepare valuation estimates
• Highly functional operating with data analytical tools including Microsoft Excel and Power BI 
• Ability to understand how data elements are used by algorithmic models
