JOB PURPOSE You will join a progressive and successful team, delivering a range of full-time and part-time programmes within the Faculty of Health. Contributing to the delivery, tracking, and monitoring of key skill performance amongst cohorts of students in the Faculty of Health. Where required, to work with the apprenticeship on-boarding team to ensure that learners complete an effective and robust induction process. To identify and implement new initiatives that will exploit the use of College facilities and engagement with the wider community. To deliver an exceptional learner experience through the delivery of outstanding teaching, learning and assessment leading to positive achievement outcomes and progression on to higher levels of study, employment, or apprenticeships. To undertake responsibilities for assisting in the course management of a designated course, being responsible for the application of awarding/validating body regulations and procedures and upholding academic standards. Grow long-term relationships with clients and employers, within the healthcare sector, to capitalise on partnership opportunities for learners. Assisting students in their progression to Higher Education and / or employment. Contributing to the development and the continual improvement of courses, coordinating effectively with both staff and students. To carry out periodic evaluation and monitoring of the quality of provision in line with the quality assurance calendar. GENERIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In addition to the requirements of the post above, all academic staff are required to: Complete all associated organisation / administrative work, preparation, internal verification and marking. Plan, prepare, develop, and evaluate courses and course materials, and supervise course provisions, where appropriate. Participate in programme / school / college activities, as requested, including parents evenings. Meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Colleges Health and Safety Policies. Undertake individual and / or collaborative research and consultancy work agreed by Weston College management, as part of the Practice Educator in Health (WBL)s current duties. Be prepared to operate on a flexible year, as required. Academic staff will normally be expected to work not more than two evenings per week, on average. Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to effectively motivate and inspire others. You’ll also have exceptional organisational skills combined with good IT knowledge and sound administration skills.

- You will have recent experience of dealing with student nurses either in a Higher Education Institution or in clinical practice.

We welcome applications for a full-time post in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery attracting 10 PAs, based at Wexham Park Hospital. The ENT department has a strong reputation for the good relations between colleagues and mentoring is therefore assisted by all the consultants in the Department.

The culture within the Department is that Consultants and middle grades care for all patients on the ward as needed. The daily morning ward round deals with any issues arising if the appointee was unable to review postoperative patients and there is a consultant on site who is available to cover any urgent or emergency problems. Team working is integral to this role in the department.

This is intended to serve as a broad description of the duties of the post. All Job Plans are reviewed with the Deputy or Chief Of Service for Specialty Surgery, who is the Line Manager. A job plan review will take place 6 months following the appointment to assess the duties undertaken and the need for any change. All changes would be by mutual agreement and changes having budgetary or contractual implications would also need the agreement of the Chief Executive.

All consultants undertake a 1:10 on call. The post holder will have support from a secretary and adequate office facilities.

Current locations of clinics are under review but the departmental aim is that cross site travel during the working day is to be avoided. If travel to or from peripheral site is required this will attract appropriate DCC for travel and reimbursement of extra mileage in accordance with the Consultant Terms and Conditions of Service (2003).

All operating lists are undertaken at Wexham Park Hospital Hospital. Operating lists at Wexham Park are 6 hour sessions (5 hours operating and 1 hour for pre-and post-op rounds).

Fixed Term - 12 Months

Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Urological Surgeon based on the Newham and Whipps cross sites for Barts Health. We are looking for a Consultant Urological Surgeon to help with the overall workload of the Urology department. This post is to support the diagnostic and core urology work in the department.

Key duties will be supervising and running operating lists, acute and specialist clinics, diagnostics, on call cover, ward rounds, and care for patients on wards in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including ward and specialist nursing teams. The unit is very active in research, education and audit and the post holder will be expected to fully participate in all the above activities.

You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council with a license to practise.

In-patient activity is based on the Surgical Unit with access to Paediatric day and in-patient beds as necessary. Day Care activity is centered on the in main theatres with patients housed Forest Ward pre and post operatively

Clinical Governance



The appointee will be required to participate in all clinical governance activities related to the Urology service. This will include contributing to: -


• clinical audit
• clinical risk activities
• clinical incident reporting
• responding to complaints within the Trust’s expected timescale

You will be part of a large team of Registrars covering respiratory medicine with an active teaching programme and specialist MDTs including TB, asthma, ILD and lung cancer.

Dependent upon the applicant’s experience the post may include the opportunity to join the specialist respiratory on-call rota or the acute medicine rota. There will bethe opportunity to attend specialist respiratory clinics and learn bronchoscopy and pleural procedures.

This post is for a Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist. This post holder will have combined Diabetes, Endocrinology and General Medical responsibilities. The job is a full-time post comprising of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs) including the on call although those wishing to work less than full time hours will be considered.

We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague who will help develop our local Diabetes and Endocrine Service. Our Inpatient services, Diabetic foot and Joint Antenatal services are based at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough and Outpatient Endocrine and Diabetes clinics are based at King Edward Hospital in Windsor.

The post holders will join 4 full time consultant endocrinologists and 2 part time consultants based at Wexham Park Hospital . Outpatient clinics will be provided within Wexham Park Hospital and related peripheral clinics in King Edward Hospital, St Marks and Heatherwood Hospitals.

General Medicine: Ward 5 cover – 36-bed ward, plus outliers. During Ward weeks – currently 2-week block in every 10 weeks the post-holder will be covering the ward full -time with no clinic commitments. The ward consultant is expected to supervise the Registrars who see speciality referrals, take urgent GP calls, and work with the inpatient Diabetes Specialist Nurses/Foot team when needed.

Outpatient clinics: This part of the post typically involves 4-5 DCC sessions per week; General Endocrine, Type 1 diabetes, Transition, Complex Type 2 clinics, Joint Antenatal and Diabetic Foot MDT clinics. 1 session is dedicated to Admin. Diabetes clinic slots are 30 minutes. Endocrine clinic slot lengths can vary depending on whether the slot is face to face or telephone. The appointee will help with cross-cover of MDT clinics, along with the existing Consultant Team.

There will be a minimum of 1.5 SPA. There is a generous study budget for Consultants and a post-graduate centre to support Study Leave. There is a helpful on-site Library with on-line journal/article finding support.

The post holder will be part of the general medical on call rota which is currently 1:7 weekends and 1:20 weekdays.

The successful applicant will be involved in providing general medical services to patients on the endocrine and general medical ward and participating in the acute general medical on-call rota.

Applicants should have a CCT in Endocrinology and General Medicine, or be within 6-months of achieving this at the time of application.
