This is a fantastic opportunity for any doctor wishing to gain experience in Sexual Health who is considering a career in genitourinary medicine, sexual and reproductive health, general practice or obstetrics and gynaecology. The appointee would contribute to delivering Integrated Sexual Health care within Unity sexual Health Services, and will be based at Central Health Clinic, Tower Hill, Bristol BS2 OJD. There would be an opportunity to gain the Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH) and potentially obtain the Letter of Competence for the contraceptive implant (LoC SDI) and intra-uterine devices (LoC IUT). There may also be an opportunity to attend specialist clinics depending on areas of interest. The position is open to those who meet the Person Specification as a Clinical Fellow appointment. The appointee will provide clinical care for patients attending our integrated sexual health service including genitourinary conditions, contraception and results management.
The job purpose is to work as part of a team whose aim is to enable patients to make informed choices about their own sexual and reproductive health by providing contraception and sexual health care of a high quality to all service users, whether accessed by self-referral or formal referral from outside agencies.
The post holder will be responsible professionally to the Lead Clinicians.
The post holder will have a responsibility to be aware of and adhere to the current Clinical Standards and Procedures for the services. Additionally, the post holder will comply with all legislation relating to the control of fertility, including the Abortion Act, NHS Trust and PCT (Sexually transmitted Diseases) Directions 2000.
