Reporting to the Group Finance Director, this post requires a qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA or CIMA) to work alongside our Payroll & Accounts Manager to take accounting responsibility in overseeing the company finance & accounting systems. The successful applicant will take ownership of timely month-end close out processes, reconciliations, and management reporting.
Previous experience with managing a team is also essential for this role, along with experience in UK financial reporting requirements.
This is a hands-on position, requiring working knowledge and experience of accounting disciplines including financial accounting, compliance, projections and cash flow forecasting as well as systems development and mentoring the finance team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accounting leadership - Overseeing the Finance/Accounting systems, working alongside the Payroll & Accounts Manager, assist in working with a team of up to 12 working within Payroll, Sales & Purchase Ledger between our offices in Corpach and Kishorn. Overseeing the full accounting function of the group.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of our accounting processes.
- Take owenership of timely month-end close processes, reconciliations, and management reporting and compliance.
- Reporting on finance performance of the company to Group Directors and Management boards.
- Working with payroll to ensure strict adherence to company policies and legal standards. Filing of P11D's with HMRC
- Provide essential operational support to the group's daily operations, facilitating a seamless workflow and efficient practices in conjunction with the group's strategic objectives.
- Foster the development and maintenance of robust financial controls to secure the group's assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Project Management and Process Improvement lead and manage ad-hoc projects, demonstrating flexibility and a capacity to drive change. Champion the ehancement of finance processes and tools, including the introduction of automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Working with Group Directors on budget reports.
- Working with Group Finance Director and Group Managing Director on large business transactions, including investments.
- Collaborate closely with external accountants and auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
