The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position; to verify and analyze on and off equipment, malfunctions, troubleshoot, calibrate, modify, fabricate, test, align, inspect, repair, configure, de-configure, and load assigned integrated nuclear/conventional weapons delivery systems; and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Certifies work produced under the USAF Technical Order Program, and complies with security regulations, directives, and policies.

4: Performs pretest, operational, functional, electrical, mechanical, and final testing of integrated nuclear/conventional weapon systems electronic components fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and their subassemblies both on and off equipment. Performs explosive operations, loads and unloads, positions, arms, and safes all assigned nuclear/conventional air munitions and pyrotechnics on assigned aircraft and or equipment.

5: Accomplishes configuration changes of integrated nuclear/conventional weapons control, launch, release, and suspension assemblies on assigned aircraft and equipment based on mission requirements. Plans and conducts training of reserve personnel, Active Duty and other employees.

Duties:

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations on multiple areas of the body, including, but not limited to thyroid, salivary glands, pancreas, liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, portal and hepatic veins, spleen, kidneys, bladder, scrotum, uterus/ovaries/adnexae (transabdominal and transvaginal), and soft tissues.

• Develops and maintains patient preparation procedures and reminder letters so that outpatients and inpatient wards understand the proper preparations for ultrasound examinations to minimize delays of examinations.

• Maintains a quality assurance program of the ultrasound scanning equipment and monitor. Exercises extreme caution in the handling and safeguarding of all equipment. The physician serves as the Supervisory Psychiatrist for the psychiatry service personnel within the Mental Health Ambulatory Care Clinic (MHACC) located in Louis Stokes VA Medical Center. The major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversees direct reports including psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, neuropsychologists, clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, licensed professional mental health counselors, addiction therapists, vocational rehabilitation specialists, and peer support specialists.
• Monitors work performance to ensure that requirements are satisfied; and interpret and process a wide variety of data related to program planning in the specialized needs of the Veterans.
• Conducts ongoing program evaluation and data-driven quality improvement projects that monitor the effectiveness of clinical operations within the MHACC.
• Collaborates with Mental Health leadership, region/facility BHIP leads, team leads, and Group Practice Manager to ensure that they provide the highest quality of care to veterans served.
• Prepares special reports and responses, Congressional responses, briefing papers, issue briefs, and decision papers for Medical Center leadership, which may be highly sensitive, confidential, and complex; is a requirement of the position.

• Ensures timely access to care of patients assigned to each BHIP team, in accordance with local and national policies.
• Performs psychiatric evaluations on a diverse population, including geriatric and post-deployment combat Veterans who are mentally ill and may have psychosocial issues such as homelessness, unemployment, or poor support systems.
• Diagnoses psychiatric disorders as specified in the DSM-V by means of observation, interview and mental status examination, medical examination, and integrated interpretation of the results of psychological tests, laboratory tests, radiologic procedures, and personal and family history.
• Delivers pharmacological (including clozapine, buprenorphine, naloxone, and ketamine) and psychotherapeutic treatment of psychiatry disorders as specified in DSM 5.
• Orders diagnostic tests and consultation and will be able to make appropriate treatment decisions based on the review of those findings.
