The Unit for Functional Neurosurgery provides a comprehensive elective neurological and neurosurgical service for the UCLH Trust, a large area of North Central and West London and its associated hospitals and the local community/GPs. This post offers a unique opportunity as the successful candidate will be an integral part of the Functional Neurosurgical Unit. The post is fixed term for 1 year which is suitable for a neurology trainee who wishes to develop their skills and gain experience of movement disorders/functional neurosurgery in a major centre of excellence.

Responsibilities of the post include participation in neurology clinics, performing levodopa challenges and post-operative management of Functional Neurosurgical patients and being an integral member of Functional Neurosurgical multidisciplinary team. There is an expectation that you would have dedicated time for professional supervision and development of trainee/junior doctors within the department, undertake research, publish in peer reviewed journals and present at National &/or international conferences. The post is an ideal stepping-stone for an experienced trainee to gain further experience in neurovascular surgery.

Your role We are looking for compassionate, experienced, and enthusiastic Support Worker to join an established team to help support a fabulous, chatty, and engaging 19-year-old within our family home setting in Norwich. Our client has complex medical difficulties which require clinical and personal care. Full training and shadowing opportunities will be provided to ensure Support Worker feels confident and comfortable with the daily routine. Support Workers will also need to be able to support a range of stimulating activities throughout the day to positively enrich our client’s life. Access toa car for transport would be an advantage due to the client location, the nearest train station is Norwich. The successful candidate will have: Experience working in a Care situation preferably with children or young adults (for example previous teaching assistants, foster carers as well as those trained in Care) Energy, empathy, great sense of humour and a positive outlook and the ability to build positive relationships. 1. To work as an independent, JAG accredited, Advanced Clinical Endoscopist undertaking endoscopy procedures with an awareness of the associated responsibilities 2. Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and be accountable for own actions 3. Act on professional judgement about when to seek help, demonstrating critical reflection on own practice, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and openness to change 4. Demonstrate knowledge of GI disorders through analysing and interpreting the care needs of patients with gastrointestinal symptoms. 5. Provide professional leadership and accountability by personal example to ensure the delivery of a high quality, patient centred service across Endoscopy 6. Assess medical and psychological suitability of patients who are referred for endoscopic investigations to include social, physical and emotional factors. 7. Perform advanced and specialised clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of Endoscopy patients to enhance the patient/carer experience. 8. Decide on the best course of treatment from the visual assessment of the Gastrointestinal (GI) tract and whether to take biopsies/ perform therapeutic procedures such as polypectomy. 9. Exercise professional judgement to manage risk appropriately 10. To demonstrate performance within the parameters of the National KPIs for each accredited endoscopy modality, maintaining clinical competence and credibility

As a Chef, you will be responsible for the planning and provision of daily nutritious meals for all our residents while ensuring the food you purchase is fresh and within budget. In addition, you will ensure all health and safety and environmental standards are achieved and maintained. You must be a team player who will inspire and motivate your team.

Reports to: Home Manager



This role could be for you if you have;

- Experience in a similar role as a Chef.
- Knowledge of nutrition and therapeutic diets.
- Drive, ambition and an ability to motivate and nurture talent within the team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in creative menu planning and working with seasonal produce.



Qualifications for the role

- Food Hygiene Certified – Level 2 – willing to work towards Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications.
- First Aid Certified.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
