For this role we are looking for a proactive and innovative person to organise, promote and manage the weddings, events and additional Hospitality outlets within the department ensuring the continuity and provision of functions by developing and undertaking externally generated activity. You will be business savvy and have a knowledge of budgets inc. profit and loss. You will have the passion and ability to promote the estate in a positive and knowledgeable way and will be first point of call for new and existing clients. Your innovative and creative ideas will support the department by creating and developing new and existing events.
You should be methodical and adept at handling difficult or stressful situations. You should keep abreast of the latest wedding trends and area developments, as well as demonstrating exceptional communication, organisation, and customer service skills. You should have extensive experience and knowledge of running weddings and events starting from the initial enquiry, progressing through to the follow up and feedback from the final wedding or event. You should be able to seamlessly handle any adaptations / changes at short notice in an ever changing and dynamic industry.
Part of the job role will include working with the HR team to organising and developing the recruitment of a bank of casual hospitality staff to support the department with upcoming weddings and events. A basic knowledge of employment processes and safer recruitment would be beneficial.
This post is suitable for someone who has the desire, innovative ability and proactive approach to develop and expand our wedding, events and general Hospitality provision. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Hospitality, Catering, Estates and Marketing departments to drive and build the future of Hospitality at Kingston Maurward. There is the scope to undertake CPD to enable development and progression within this role and within the organisation in the future.

The college doesn’t hold a sponsorship licence therefore we are not open to candidates who require sponsorship under the points-based system.
Status: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Sunday with flexibility to meet business needs. Shifts will include working evenings and weekends on a 5-day week rota.
*Duty Management will be included within existing weekly hours - any TOIL accrued as a result will need to be agreed in advance with your Line Manager and should be taken within an agreed timescale.
Salary: £24,262 per annum which is point 21 on the Weymouth and Kingston Maurward Salary Scales.
