Sexual and Violent Offending Liaison Officer (SAVOLO), Justice Services
Various locations across Edinburgh

Salary: £44,257 - £52,373 (pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 14 per week

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join our SAVOLO service.

Accountable to the Team Leader and with public safety being paramount, as a SAVOLO you will work closely with colleagues across Edinburgh Justice Services, the wider Council, and other partners including Police Scotland, Health, Scottish Prison Service and Third Sector, to make decisions regarding risk levels, develop risk management plans which mitigate against these risks and safeguard the public, and provide support and advice to colleagues and partners

Edinburgh Justice Services are committed to providing high quality services while ensuring a compassionate approach to people accessing our services and supporting staff wellbeing. We offer a high level of training to support continuous professional development and to deliver a broad range of interventions, including established, accredited, group work programmes. We are implementing Trauma Informed Practice, Safe & Together™ and Restorative Justice practice models and interventions across our services, and are establishing a Women’s Centre, in partnership with NHS Lothian, to reduce barriers and meet the needs of women involved in the justice system.

Candidates will have a Social Work qualification recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and be registered, or eligible to register, with the SSSC. • The care and cleanliness of all equipment used in carrying out the above duties.
• Other tasks as may reasonably be required that relate to the role, including supporting cleaning tasks across other buildings where required.

*Facilities Management has overall responsibility for keyholding to enable opening and closing of buildings that we service. As part of the duties of a Cleaning Operative and in this particular role, you will be required to be a key holder to fulfil these tasks. This typically would include operation of security alarm systems when opening a building, closing accessible windows and doors, switching off lights and ensuring that premises are left safe and secure when closing.

A vacancy has arisen for a qualified Senior social worker to lead the Substance Misuse Team Residential Rehabilitation Team/Alcohol related brain damage.

The team comprises of Mental Health and Substance Misuse Social Workers, Community Care Assistant and Peer support worker. This post is based within Woodlands House Astley Ainslie hospital and Milestone House. Experience of partnership working would be desirable as the team works closely with our partners in health and is integrated within the wider Health and Social Care Partnership.

Experience required:

• Professional Social Work Qualification (i.e. BA, DipSW, CQSW or equivelent)

• Any of the following post qualifying qualifications would be desirable; MHO accreditation, Practice Educator qualification or Advanced professional certificate in Adult Protection.

• Experience of supporting people who have challenging and complex needs, ideally with a focus on Mental Health and Substance Misuse service users would be desirable.

The post holder is expected to demonstrate:

• An ability to manage risk and allocate work within the team

• An understanding staff supervision and development

• An ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of individuals including service users and other professionals

• An understanding of Adult Support and Protection legislation.

We are looking for a Locum Dental Nurse to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at Edinburgh Dental Centre, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Work pattern: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)

The successful applicant will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel and their families.

Job Role:
• To provide clinical and administrative support to the Dental Officer to enable maintenance of the surgery. This includes preparation/sterilisation of all instruments before and after patients, reception duties, document handling, operation of dental computing system, processing radiographs, shared maintenance tasks and working in the central sterilisation area when in place.
• To be fully aware of the responsibilities of a registered healthcare professional and comply with the GDC Principles and Standards for Dental Professionals.
• To ensure that not less than 6.5 hours per day in 2 sessions are set aside for appointed patients
• To be accountable to the Senior Dental Officer through their line management.
• To comply with DPHC (Dental) policy on working hours.
• To comply with all Health and Safety Policy directives and legislation.
• To carry out preventive cross infection procedures including sterilisation of instruments and materials in compliance with current legislation.
• To adhere to local stock control procedures when removing items of stock from the storeroom.
• To manage the patient appointment system.
• To manage dental records (manual and electronic) ensuring the correct receipt, despatch, registration and storage of FMed 271 and hasten any outstanding documents.
• To manage the receipt, despatch and documentation of dental prosthetic appliances, ensuring timely appointments for patients as necessary.

Essential Requirements / Qualifications / Experience:
• Fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) without restrictions.
• Must hold valid suitable and appropriate indemnity insurance with a recognised dental defence organisation.
• To have completed GDC highly recommended Continuing Professional Development (CPD) including medical emergencies, safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection.
• To be trained and current in emergency and resuscitation procedures and have practised and tested these procedures at least annually in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines.
• Must have undertaken the additional health clearance checks for clinicians required to perform Exposure Prone Procedures (in accordance with the Department of Health policy entitled “Health clearance for tuberculosis, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV: New Healthcare Workers”).
• Must be in date and able to provide certification for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Safeguarding Adults up to and including Level 3 training.

Desirable Requirements / Qualifications / Experience:
• Previous Ministry of Defence (MOD) experience.
• Hold a Dental Nurse qualification.
