-Advises and supports OCPO Senior Managers and Executives in developing and directing controls for IRS procurement and contract programs. Serves as a leader for the short- and long-range planning, development, coordination, and implementation of very broad and complex procurements that impact support services and information technology for Internal Revenue business units. Knowledge of related disciplines and functions involved in the acquisition process, such as design or system engineering, integrated logistics support, financial management, and their interrelationships with contracting. Advises and supports the OCPO Senior Managers and Executives, Program Managers, and COR's in developing and directing controls for IRS procurement and contract programs. -Develops and maintains innovate contractual language, terms, and conditions. Serves as a program contractual authority and advisor on the acceptability and applicability of contractual matters related to procurement actions. Interprets and applies Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Department of Treasury Acquisition Regulations (DTAR), and Internal Revenue Service Acquisition Procedures (IRSAP) to every acquisition regardless of type of procurement and dollar threshold. Responsible for reviewing acquisitions strategies recommended by program officials to ensure accuracy, quality, adherence to FAR, DTAR, and IRSAP prior to approving streamlined and innovative acquisition strategies that bring the greatest value to the IRS mission.

-Serves as the subject matter expert for other contracting professionals in the Office of Procurement Operations by utilizing experience, knowledge, and training to guide, coach, and mentor contracting professionals through establishing acquisition strategies, navigating challenging procurements, responding to protests, responding to Freedom of Information Act requests, responding to congressional inquiries, drafting negation strategies, drafting award decisions, analyzing the impact of new legislation, and procurement policies on procurement actions.

- Approves acquisition strategies, evaluation criteria, appoints contracting officer technical representatives, award decisions, negotiation strategies. Participates and collaborates with IRS senior executives, program managers, attorneys, small business specialists, procurement policy, and senior procurement executives on contract review board prior to approving acquisition strategy.

FUNCTIONS/SCOPE OF DUTIES:

A. Medication Management:

1. Reads and interprets prescriptions, obtains proper medication or material in the proper strength and dosage form; determines proper amount and counts, pours, or measures the medications; affixes proper label and auxiliary labels; and records required data on electronically or via the Pharmacy's copy of prescription/order.
2. Replenishes inventory for emergency carts, kits, and trays. Collects drug use evaluation data for quality improvements purposes.
3. Compounds and/or reconstitutes oral or external medications (non-sterile) without a second review.
4. After prescription/order(s) are reviewed by a pharmacist for therapeutic propriety, reviews orders for technical accuracy and ensures that the item dispensed corresponds to the drug and dose ordered.
5. Answers questions and calls from pharmacy and non-pharmacy personnel regarding drug distribution.
6. Monitors refrigerator temperature daily in assigned areas.
7. Perform monthly inspections to assigned areas to ensure proper storage of medications and soon to expired drugs are removed.
8. Maintains, verifies, stocks and replaces outdates in patient care area automated dispensing machines throughout the facility (i.e., floors and clinics).
9. Properly handles medications by ensuring high alert, hazardous, refrigerated and controlled substance medications are handled/stored appropriately and legally.
10. Prepares medications that requires special handling and documentation.
11. Assures that each individual prescription order is filled correctly with right drug/supply item, strength, dosage form, quantity and with all necessary auxiliary labels attached.

B. Outpatient Pharmacy Activities (when assigned):

1. Processes and fills outpatient prescriptions in compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
2. Utilizes the automated dispensing machine (i.e. Scriptpro) for packaging and dispensing medications.
3. Assembles prescriptions properly with the correct drug, strength, quantity, auxiliary labels, and prescription labels.
4. Assures that the correct medication is filled by using bar code scanning on stock bottles.
5. Appropriately assigns and prints label for completed prescriptions notating if it's window, mail, UPS, refrigerated or non-refrigerated item.
6. Supports automation by manually completing prescriptions not processed through the automation dispensing machine.
7. Assures the timely completion of all prescriptions.
8. Verifies the patient's identification following the Medical Center's policies. Ensures two patient identifiers are utilized when dispensing medications.
9. Verifies that the patient receives the correct prescriptions by using VA software (i.e., VISTA and barcode scanning)
10. Verifies that the patient has received all prescriptions (i.e., refrigerated, controlled substances, bulk medications, etc.)
11. Ensure the patient signature is obtained at pick-up electronically. Only uses manual signature during contingency.

C. Inpatient Pharmacy Activities (when assigned)

1. Performs review of medications prepared by another pharmacy employee to be dispensed to hospital areas.
2. Inventories and replenishes emergency trays/carts/kits.
3. Operates and maintains automated dispensing unit dose systems such as Pyxis and Parata.
4. Inspects packaged items for accuracy and suitability before submitting for final check, prior to distribution to hospital areas. Ensures correct number of tablets are present in each locally unit dosed package prior to dispensing to floors and/or automated devices.
5. Utilizes the Parata Perl inspection system after medications repackaged.
6. Assures repackaged dosage forms are labeled according to USP and VA standards and attains a final review by a pharmacist.
7. Maintains repackaging records that assures all regulatory and review standards are met.
8. Trouble-shoots minor mechanical problems of all automated systems as they occur and coordinates resolution of more involved mechanical or software problems with Supervisor, vendor help desk, ADPAC, etc. as appropriate.
9. Fills medication orders to fulfill pre-exchange doses, missing dose reports, Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs), loads, restocks and IV orders with accuracy.
10. Correctly inventories, assesses, and determines the need for floor stock and external medication.
11. Delivers pre-exchange doses, missing dose reports, Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs), loads, restocks and IV orders with accuracy.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform numerous tasks which are dissimilar in kind, but which have in common the purpose of assisting the work of one or more persons in an organization. Your role involves skilful preparation of complex North Indian, specifically Punjabi Curry dishes cuisine dishes and specialities specific to the regional theme of the establishment and its menus. You will be responsible for a series of kitchen operational duties commensurate with job role, including training and supervising of Commi Chefs and other junior kitchen staff

To qualify for selection, you must have the following minimum requirements: -
• Eligibility to live and work in UK
• Experience in the preparation of authentic high quality North Indian & Punjabi Curry dishes & Specialties
• Technical knowledge of ingredient quality, sourcing, measuring & formulation
• Previous experience of at least 3 years in this role + min 5 years of prior experience in escalating job roles
• Relevant Health & Safety credentials and knowledge of HACCP protocols
• Resident within commutable distance of up to one hour

A three-year Postdoctoral Research Fellowship is available in a collaborative H2020 project entitled “OPTIPATH – Adaptive OPTIcal metasurfaces for real-time, label-free and non-destructive multidimensional digital PATHology”. This research will be undertaken at the interface of the Quantum Bio-Photonics Group in the Aston Institute of Photonics Technologies and the Department of Mechatronics and Biomedical Engineering (MBE) in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, Aston University, UK.

This is a joint research programme capitalising on the knowledge and expertise of the 7 partners across of Europe in the modern photonics, bio photonics and pathology. The primary objective of the project is to develop a non-destructive, label-free, real-time, 3D imaging technique for tissue samples, enabling live histopathological assessment during surgical and oncological treatments. This approach aims to provide a multidimensional pathology sensing paradigm by utilizing highly resolved and adaptive structured light with Orbital Angular Momentum, combined with 3D polarization and spectral information.

As the successful applicant you will be responsible for conducting independent research focused on developing theoretical formalism and a Monte Carlo-based computational tool to simulate the propagation of complex structured light carrying Orbital Angular Momentum through turbid, tissue-like scattering media with complex internal structures. You will be working in collaboration with the other project partner to design and the development of histopathological 2D/3D tissue imaging system utilizing vectorial structured light and confocal scanning system.

You will have a PhD and research experience in Monte Carlo modelling of light propagation in tissue-like scattering medium, structured light with Orbital Angular Momentum, polarization optics and laser speckles.

The position will be based in the Aston Institute of Photonic Technologies and will report to Prof I. Meglinski.
